Early Signed HOPI Ring by TED WADSWORTH
An early example of Hopi overlay in a ring by Ted Wadsworth. Wadsworth learned his craft at the Hopi Guild in 1954. This example probably dates to the 1950- 60 period. Based on its simple design. Ted Wadsworth, a member of the Bear Clan, is Victor Coochwytewa's brother-in-law. The face of the ring is 1 1/8 inches tall and 7/8 inches wide. It is set on a split shank band. It is hallmarked with Wadsworth's rabbit stick mark. The ring is a size 9 1/2 and weighs 7.3 grams. It would be easy for a jeweler to size it if needed. Up for auction is a pair of earrings which may be worn whether your ears are pierced or not. They are Hopi Silver pieces measuring 11/16" less than 3/4" in diameter. Slight dap form with hallmarked: STERLING pre-manufactured screwback hardware in good working order and they have a combined weight of 6.7g on a digital scale prior to packing. They are marked independent of one another. One shows with a Hopi Silverguild sunface looking mark; the other has a 7 segment rabbit stick(Ted Wadsworth, brother in law of Victor Coochwytewa) and based on the spaced chased mark texture of the Parrot design(recessed areas) which is light and more wide spaced plus the(slight 3/4" face diameter) proportions to have been crafted late 1960s to mid-70s but you'll be the ultimate judge on age, These were sourced second hand at a local vintage ... morewares market along with the other earrings shown in the final photo; other than this I have no specific history on any of them. Letter sent to Ella Mielziner( wife of Leo Mielziner noted Zionist and Artist) by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Dana grandson of Longfellow. Letter is signed and typed on stationary with the address of the future Longfellow House National Park Museum. Dana was a professor at Harvard and Columbia. He belonged to a number of Pacifist and Socialist groups. He was fired by Columbia University for his anti-war stance at the outbreak of WWI. Schwinn 20" Girls Bike Excellent Condition Wadsworth
This bike was purchased from target the summer of 2011. Our daughter has already grown out of it. The condition is excellent. The pink. Purple and white makes this Schwinn really stand out.
