10 Size Case Wadsworth Pilot 25 Year With Non Working Movement
This auction is for the pocket watch pictured. But the dial and the movement are for parts only. The movement has a bad balance staff, but may run if repaired. Basically, you are purchasing the 10 Size case and getting the dial and movement in the process. The case is a bit worn as the front bezel is missing most of the design. There is no brassing however. The back of the case has a very nice hinge, but there are a couple of areas of brassing and a couple of scrape areas. The bow is missing most of the plating. There is no crystal, but if you want me to install one, please let me know when you pay and I will add 10.00 to the auction amount for the installation of a new crystal. NO RETURNS on this item. Nice looking case formally containing a 992 movement. Classic Hamilton Model 2 design in elegant 14K white gold filled. Overall quite good condition. The only brassing I see is a tiny bit to the underside of the bow.if you look closely you can see it in one of the photos. Bow is no longer tight and firm as you can see in the photos. Crown is nice.it's signed HAMILTON RAILROAD. No major dents. Dings, or deep scratches. There is of course typical evidence of use commensurate with age. I'll allow a 48 hour inspection period so that you can see the case in person, if you are not happy with it just return it immediately.

Sussex,dated March 5th 1915 by Sapper Wadsworth, 102nd Field Cpy R.E requesting a transfer to a new Company of RE in Cambridge(his home town)There is a reply sent on a sheet of Memorandum paper dated March 8th from the 203rd Company RE Cambridge informing Reggie his application for a Commission in the Company will be laid before the committee in due course. Then comes a letter dated 24th informing him there are no vacancies at that time.Then we have his Commission appointing him an Officer in the Machine Gun Corps from the October 25th 1916, the actual document dated November 20th 1916. Finally there is a real photo postcard of Reggie, I think that is an RE cap badge so taken pre-Oct.1916. Reggie was captured in 1918 and was a POW in Rastatt and latterly at Gefangenenlager Mainz.He died in 1962. Aged 72. This is a fairly unusual style pocket knife with locking blade that sports deer foot or hoof grips and has a German Stag Deer hunting design on the bolsters. Blade is marked A.W. Wadsworth and XLNT. A.W. Wadsworth had knives made in Germany and exported them to the U.S. for sale in the early 1900s. This knife is 8.25 inches long overall. The blade is 3 inches long. This is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL RARE AND EXCITING example of a very early very rare Dyer. Wadsworth& Co 3 Decked Column and Splat Mantle Clock in Superior All Original condition. Dyer. Wadsworth& Co made clocks from 1838 until1843 with a limited production of high quality clocks– with few surviving until this day in Augusta Georgia. One of the very few clocks to be made in the South. The 8 day time and strike movement early strap movement strikes the hours on the hour on a large gong with a very nice sound. It is an extremely classy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. This clock is weight driven and not spring driven. Weights keep better time than springs as springs lose power as the wind down and cause the clock to slow down somewhat before windings. This clock looks like it was cherished its whole life. When electricity. ... moreElectric lights and electric clocks came to the area it was no doubt retired to the attic. This fine rare very early clock looks great. Especially for its age. This is one of the very early clocks made in the South. This clock is much more beautiful than the pictures can show. It is very large and measures 38 inches high. 17 inches wide and 6 inches deep. This clock works beautifully and keeps good time, unbelievable! The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned and oiled. See picture) This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! We will include a professional oiler and easy instructions so you could even do it yourself!
