I-177-B Tube Tester by Daven looks GREAT under the lid! Appears to be all original and used very little. When I plugged it in it did not power up. All the panel screws are in place and not buggered up. I'm thinking the toggle power switch may be stuck internally and some contact cleaner may free it up- I'll report back. Also one knob is missing on the micro-mhos switch. The cover could be straightened but it closes easily and the latches work as-is. This unit is very versatile- it can check transistors in and out of circuit, has a built in signal generator, can also measure volts and milliamps. It also have a mirror that you can use when working on printed circuit boards and it can check the batteries in the unit with removing them. The unit looks to be complete and is in nice overall condition. The case is solid with good hinges and a clasp that works to keep the cover closed when not in use. Includes 5 test leads- 3 for checking transistors and 2 for volts, milliamps and signal generator. Also includes the original manual, with a schematic and parts list. The unit will ship with 2 NEW"C" DURCELL BATTERIES already installed. For sale is this tube tester. I plug this in and put a tube in. I set it to all the right settings and the gage moved. It seems to work but I don't know a lot about this, so I'm selling it as is. Some of the green paint is coming off, it has some rust on the outside of the case. There's a couple dates on the Army Technical bulletin. The bulletin says Departments of the Army and the Air Force 16 October 1952, it also say this bulletin supersedes TB 11-2627-2, 11 June 1951, including C 1,31 January 1952. Both pieces are in Very nice condition. It line adjusts great and I tested a few tubes and compared closely to my calibrated TV-7. It did not come with a manual so I did not test the MX-949A/U tube socket adapter kit but the Gentleman I purchased them from said they both worked great and the tester does so I would guess the adapter kit does also and the full manual can be purchased here on EBAY for a good price. Both cases are in nice shape with no dents or major scratches and you can tell they were both taken care of very well and they actually look a lot better in person than the pictures show. Military US Army Signal Corps Vacuum Tube Tester I-177 40’s 50’s
You're looking at a vtg Military US Army Signal Corps Vacuum Tube Tester I-177. From the late 40's or early 50's. I believe this was made by Triplett. As it looks the same as those I have seen for sale; the identifying metal plate has come off the front. The unit is in good overall cosmetic condition. However I have no way to test it and cannot claim that it works. The test booklet dated June 1951 comes with the unit. Nice find! I do combine shipping. My stated shipping& handling time is 4 days not counting weekends. This does not mean that I always wait that long, but please message me before bidding if you need it faster. This piece of equipment is hard to find. I guess it would be great for aligning cb and ham radios.Compare with the BK 2040. This unit looks almost new. It includes the Tube Guide as shown. As well as more documentation as shown. Untested: This tube tester is"as found" Untested. Condition of the panel is very good front and back, lettering, sockets, no issues to note. It came from an elder's estate, that had many vintage radios and electronics, all was in pretty good condition, nothing molested. I stepped on my VOM and destroyed it, so did not even attempt any inspection. I normally would and tell you how far I got. We offer this as parts or restore, and you might get lucky. The inside is shown in photos and has original"Cosmoline" A Mil-Spec coating that was used frequently during WW2 for shipping metals ... moreoverseas. This coating has kept the components inside the cabinet very clean. see photos of inside) There is some corrosion on the steel cabinet near the seams and edges. Here and there, cabinet is a good candidate for restoration or to clean up, touch up, and keep as original. The cabinet color is the Military Olive Drab Green color. The Model Number is stamped on the face of the panel. 1-177. The fuse is a bulb style fuse. Not sure where you would get one. But is possible that is the only thing this unit requires. When I input a signal to the device, the green circular light moved and, when I set the device to output audio, audio noise was produced. It comes as pictured. No accessories are included. Channel Master Satelite Signal Tester. Model 1008IFD, in carrying case, untested. Used, looks pretty good, basically untested, but I did connect this to a 12 volt power supply(unit uses 24 volts, not included) and let it charge for awhile. After being disconnected for 3 Days, the power light still lights up letting me know that the batteries appear to be holding a charge. Includes the carrying case seen in the pictures but is clearly missing some kind of flap or cover. Note, I took this apart to ensure the batteries were inside, they are. Return for a refund if it does not work after you get a 24 volt supply with the right plug. This listing is for 1(One) USED Sadelco DisplayMax 5000 Cable Signal Level Meter. The listing is for the tester and soft case. It does not include a charger or any other accessories. What I have available is pictured. And you will receive the pictured tester. The tester itself appears to be in good condition with some scratches from normal use. There is a small piece of tape at the bottom of the faceplate. The soft case is in pretty poor condition as pictured and appears to have performed it's function well. I do not know anything about these testers. The battery is very low. So the unit will not stay turned on, but you can power it up. I know a little about automotive testers. And some will power up if you hold the on button down when they have a low battery, which is the case with this tester. I ran through several functions while holding ... morethe power button down as pictured. I researched this unit. And it appears they have several upgrade options available. I do not know for sure what options this particular tester has installed. I will be glad to check the unit for you. When testing the basic operation I discovered the following. If you press the MER key you get Error 2. If you press the BER key you get Error 2. If you press the C/N key you get Error 1. Modem key seems to function. When pressed it attempts to perform a search function. Ingress key performs a numeric scan. Leakage key prompts a leakage check mark on screen. Up/Down arrows will move channel up and down. Numeric keypad functions and you can enter up to 999.999 on the screen if that helps identify options. I am guessing that the keys showing errors may be upgrades not installed on the tester. All sockets have been cleaned and are tight. The exterior case has been repainted. Test data booklet will be included with the unit. All switches have been check and cleaned. The type 83 rectifier tube has been replaced with a solid state 83 and 5Y3 tube has been checked for balance. Replaced if needed. All resistors have been checked and replaced as needed. All capacitors have been replaced. The three low ohms resistors that are used for calibration have been replaced with potentiometers. The three potentiometers make it easier to re- calibration when needed.
