Up for auction is a pair of mis-matched dual wheel casters. The casters are a magnetic steel with a rusted bronze looking finish. Bothe sets have wood wheels with a very beautiful grain(see pictures 4& 5) These were left over from a project. I always seem like I can't find that fourth caster to finish a project. So I thought I would see if anyone out there may need that elusive fourth wheel. The first caster has 1-7/16" diameter wheels. The caster has a height of just over 1.900" From the bottom of the wheel to the top of the stem is 3.600" The second caster has 1-13/16" diameter wheels. Up for sale is this set of three vintage heavy duty cast iron industrial swiveling double wheel casters made by Albion Industries. These casters have some age and wear but overall are in good condition. Very solid. Each caster measures 6 1/2" from bolt to bolt and 5 1/2" tall- the wheels have a 4" diameter and are 1 7/8" wide. The mounting plate measures 6 1/4" by 4 1/2" This set was purchased at auction from the closing of the Historic Hershey Chocolate Factory Plant in Hershey, PA. Antique Industrial Metal Wheel Casters! HUGE 8" wheels! 4 Set Table Legs
Up for sale are these 4 incredible antique casters. There are 2 pairs- one pair has asolid wheel. The other has 4 spokes. The 2 with the solid wheel measure approximately 8 1/4" in diameter and stands 14 1/4" tall, while the wheels with spokes measure approximately 8" and stand 13 3/4" tall. There are factory made holes in the bars which extend from the wheel to connect to the table/cart/etc so mounting should not be difficult. These are in beautiful industrial condition with a solid patina. Since they're so old the locking mechanisms would need some work to release the break/tighten the breaks. One is missing the upper arm to set the break(see photo) and one of the solid wheels has a yellow rust on one side. These have grease fittings on both the bases and the wheels as can be seen in the pictures, although I did not try to put any grease in them and one of the base fittings is missing. All of the wheels have some degree of rust and pitting with one wheel having a significant ... moreamount to one section and loss of metal as seen in the picture. I took extra pictures of this one so you’d have some idea of its condition. Also one other wheel has a dimple in it about the size of a dime. The wheels are easily changed out by removing one bolt and nut if you ever needed to. All 4 wheels turn freely and swivel smoothly. Lot of vintage/mid century furniture casters-2 sets of 4 & 2 extras
Some surface rust but still structurally in very good condition. I have had success painting the metal on similar ones with spary enamel or spray chrome finish. The clear ones are made of Lexan.
