A quite large type of shutter-the front element has a M45 thread mount-and the rear element is M50. Both elements are easy to take off by hand from the shutter. The shutter has a retaining ring to hold it on the wood board. The shutter appears to be in good working order-the B and T shutter are working as should-on the M setting.The different speeds appear to work-but i cannot guarantee their accuracy. The shutter cocks and fires and is snappy. The shutter is also branded as Zeiss Ikon-so this means this lens was used on one of their cameras. The lens is in used but overall very nice condition-it has faint traces of use on it.S body-but nothing to be worried about. Have a good look at the pictures and judge for yourself its condition. The aperture is working as should. Large format photography is not my area of expertise-so i do not know what format it covers. Glass is in nice condition.No fungus,haze-scratches or such problems. This is a truly unique item for sale. I purchased this scope from Budapest. Hungary in January 2012 to be a part of my thesis exhibition. I wanted to build a housing for the scope that could be hung on a wall and used to view stereo slides. My creation was installed in the Sullivan Galleries in Chicago in spring 2012. The wooden housing was built so that the scope could be easily removed and put back into its original wooden box. Inside the wooden housing is a Porta-Trace LED light panel that measures 11x18 inches. The back of the housing has a wedge bracket for sturdy hanging. Installed, it weighs about 20 lbs. The seller in Budapest posted some photos of this scope that are still floating around online. These are the only pictures of this model that I can find. and I have been searching for a couple years. Old Antique Microscope Part CARL ZEISS JENA Vertical Illuminator in Original Box Item: Vintage old antique microscope part Maker/Manufacturer's Mark: On the top of the box it says C. ZEISS JENA. However. I do not see any marks on the piece itself. Size: Box measures approx. 2.25" long x 1.75" wide x 1.5" tall Age: Probably dates to the early 1900's but I do not know for sure? Condition: Illuminator is in very good condition with some signs of age and use and the lens is a little dirty. Box is not in the best of shape as it is missing the bottom leather cover piece and the top piece has detached as well and the sides are starting to come loose. This was a garage sale find. It's a Carl Zeiss Jena Jenoptem 8x30W binoculars. You can see through them OK but it is missing some cups off the eye piece and it's hard to try to focus. It needs work and repair or the binocular could be used for some spare parts to repair others. It comes in a leather case which also needs some repair on the strap. Fix this and you will have a wonderful set of binoculars or sell them and make a bunch of bucks. Since this does need repair or is a parts binocular it is sold as is and there is no return. What makes this instrument so valuable is condition and the fact that it has been stamped with a“USSR occupied” label that has survived the last 50 years. Taken in trade from a university 20 years ago. Refurbished by a Zeiss technician and stored in a humidity controlled cabinet. This deserves to be in a collection or Museum! Optics of the lens is in excellent condition and they do not stain, scratch and fungus.
