Once replaced it should go up and down. When I was in high school I always had a hard time with microscopes and this is no different. I have no idea how to test it so it’s sold as untested. GH or Shin-Asahi-Go, is the second model made by Olympus ... morein the 1920's.Cast iron base. Brass tube, fine and coarse focus knobs. The tube is etched with"Olympus" Tokyo, No. 21006. Under the square stage is a circular piece that rotates to change the size of the hole allowing different amounts of reflected light through for viewing. Both objectives(not attached in the photo) are Leitz#3 and#7. The eyepiece on the scope is a#1(no maker) the other being a Leitz#3. The original box is dovetailed on the top and bottom. Felt lined with spaces for the objective, eyepiece and slide boxes. Brass handle and diamond shaped keyhole. 12 1/2" X 7 3/4" X 7 1/2" Focus knobs work well and the reflecting mirror is in good condition. Square stage shows a little wear on either side where the slides are slipped under the clips. Brass tube shows some wear or discoloration but there are no scratches. No chips or scratches on the base. Microscope itself is 10" high at it's lowest point and weighs about 7lbs. Box and microscope weigh 15lbs.

This set can be used to convert most of the B&L Biological Microscopes from this era to a polarizing microscope for the study of mineral thin sections or for many other microscopic applications that ... morerequire the use of polarized light. The substage Polarizer contains a Nicol prism. It is designed to be inserted into the substage ring and is so mounted as to be interchangeable with a standard Abbe condenser. The outer barrel diameter of the Polarizer is 39mm. Once inserted into and clamped down in the substage ring. The prism can be rotated 360 degrees within the device. The prism angle can be measured on a 360-degree vernier scale found on the lower skirt of the unit. The scale is calibrated in degrees with every 20-degree interval numbered. The Analyzer in the set is a B&L Style B that is designed to be used above the eyepiece of the microscope. This unit contains a Glan Thompson prism that is mounted with an attached collar that is graduated in two-degree divisions. With every tenth line numbered. The unit allows the full field of the eyepiece to be utilized up to, and including a 7.5x. The cylindrical base of the Analyzer fits over the draw tube and is securely attached by means of a set screw, which permits a fixed zero point to be established. Vintage Tasco Deluxe Microscope Kit in Wooden Box
This is sort of a vintage microscope used possibly in the 60s- it's in a nice wooden box with various"implements" that you'd use with a microscope. The microscope itself- it has a four lens turret at the bottom. 10x, 20x, 30x and 50x. The lens that is at the eyepiece on top is a lens that you slip on from the drawer- 10x or 15x. The wooden drawer that you see in one of the pictures also includes a polarization lens. That same drawer includes 11 glass slides, 4 of them with prepared samples. There's a slide wood panel that has some metal implements for working with your specimens. At the bottom under the slide table is a mirror/light. It uses two AA cells that's put into the bottom of the scope. And I tested it, the bulb burns brightly! The only"issue" I could find with this unit is that the tube that slides ... moreup and down from the two knob adjustment near the top- the tube slides freely with the adjustment not contacting it. I'm guessing a rubber friction roller inside fell off. You may be able to work out a deal with rubberbands to keep the tube from sliding down. Feel free to ask me any questions about it! I have been asked by a very good friend to list on Ebay several old cereal rings that he had collected as a child back in the 1940-1950 era. You are looking at an antique Leitz small folding microscope in good used condition. The course and fine adjustment knobs on this work as if the scope were new; it is one of the later small traveling scopes with the improved and more unusual focusing mechanisms. The optics are OK; it has a#3 lens. And I don't know about the Ocular. The draw tube is worn, and the stage is in excellent condition. The folding foot and stage mechanisms work smoothly and the foot stays open or closed as it should. It is missing the case and other associated parts, although I can provide the winning bidder with the two previous owners if you want to see if you can track them down.

I am selling a student microscope made by Spindler Hoyer of Goettingen. Germany. Two Spencer lenses of 30x and 50x magnification are included. The light source is from a mirror. Although this has not been tested with slides. It appears to be in very good condition, and adjusts easily. The microscope, 2 lenses, an old lab slide, and a Spencer Lens Company card all fit into the original, beautifully made, fitted wooden storage case, which has brass hardware and a circular holder for 2 lenses. The wood lens holder has broken in half and no longer holds the lenses securely. Marked GRAF APSCO: 18m/m 100X n.A. 1.30 immersion; 2.5x 0.05; and 16 m/m– 10X n.A 0.27· The fourth is also a GRAF-APSCO with black finish and: 4 m/mL-44X n.A.0.66· All controls seem to be working well. Leitz Wetzlar Model# 136835 Microscope with the date 1911 stamped on the scope.It looks like it is made of brass and metal.magnifying mirror lens pullies and focus wheels are all present.I am not an expert regarding microscopes but it seems to be fully intact and the parts are not frozen.There are no slides or boxes it is just as seen in the photographs

It comes with 3 objectives which are marked the following: Spencer HOM.IMM L8MM N.A.125, Eleitz Wetzlar 3, and Bausch& Lomb Optics Rochester NY 4MM 0.65 N.A. Comes with a 10X Eyepiece Ernst Leitz Wetzlar. It has a August Waeldin Inc New York N.Y. metal plate on one foot and Spencer Lens Co Buffalo N.Y. engraved on other foot. Bottom mirror has no cracks, one side is nice and the other appears to have nicking but feels smooth to the touch(appearance may be from age? I do not see a serial number marked on the scope however I could be missing it. All components seems to be in good working order, wheels, objective spinner, knobs move smoothly. Comes ... morewith case which is in good shape, latches work fine, handle is worn however can still be carried by the handle with no problems. No key for the case.
