Zeiss Illuminator/ Ring Light w/ European plug(I think) 3 Objective lenses; 10/0.22 100/1.25 40/0.63. 2 sets of binocular lenses. Set of 8x and set of 12x. Lens Holders for all objective lenses. Bottle of Zeiss Opton Xylol(Empty) The bulb inside the original Zeiss ring light appears to be working. After close inspection the thin wire makes a connection and the bulb has no marks on it to indicate a burnt out bulb. The overall condition of the microscope cosmetically is EXCELLENT. Great vintage 1950s electric microscope. Collegiate set no 2149 produced by Porter Microcraft. Includes 70 page Gilbert Booklet published in 1958, Fun With the Microscope-in great condition. Microscope case has wonderful graphics in very good condition-some minor scuff marks and wear and tear typical of a 60 year old set. Clasp works fine, hinges very good. Interior is well-preserved for its age. The set looks to be mostly complete-lots of slides and little objects, extra lens, etc. The bulb is missing but should be easy to replace.

This auction is for a Gilbert microscope built for student/toy use. This is an older. Classic model that probably dates from the 1950's or 1960's. It uses a mirror rather than an electric light source. There are four lenses for 100, 250, 500, and 1000 magnifications. The base tilts, and the mirror can be tilted/swiveled to capture the available light. Focusing is by the knobs on the side. Construction is sturdy, although it can be taken apart. SUPERB VINTAGE. VERNIER MICROSCOPE& CATHETOMETER by PHILIP HARRIS The Cast Iron base which is both heavy and very stable is finished in a black lacquer"crackle" finish. The rest of this piece is made from either polished lacquered Brass and Gun-metal. This microscope may be used in horizontal or vertical orientation. The carriage slides on a machined bed and my be locked in any position by means of a large knurled knob. A spring-loader micrometer screw and push-rod provide smooth fine adjustment without backlash. The micrometer tube is provided with a Ramsden eye-piece with fine metallic cross-wires and a 50mm focal length. The scale and vernier enable measurements to be made with an accuracy 0.02mm. The scale is 180mm long. Complete with a polished, lacquered, fitted wooden case. The only minor set-back is that the micrometer ... morereading lens screw has sheared off.
