Description General Radio 1557A Vibration Calibrator This calibrator provides a single-frequency(100 Hz) Single-level(1 g) check on the GR Vibration Pickups or any pickup whose total mass is 300 grams or less. It can provide on-the-spot calibration of vibration-measuring systems immediately before and after important measurements and can also be used to compare transducers or to calibrate working transducers against a standard transducer. Operation of the calibrator is simple. A pickup of known mass is attached to the shaker, either in place of one of the removable 50-gram disks or to one of the disks by double-faced, pressure-sensitive tape. General Radio Genrad 1557-A Vibration calibrator, tested, works
For auction is a General Radio GenRad 1557-A Vibration Calibrator. These are exceptionally rare. It comes with*both* of its hard to find weights. It is used. Has plenty of gooey sticker schmutz that needs to be cleaned off and has a small piece broken from the thin plastic meter cover but the calibrator works. I do not have the 6V battery required to power it but I hooked it up to a benchtop power supply. It has been tested at 6V. The battery function works and the vibration setting works at all power levels. There is no corrosion in the battery compartment. Please look at the pictures carefully.
