This is a used Lakes Systems Color C Lector that has been cleaned and verified operational. It is being shipped without the 9 volt battery it requires. This unit was developed in coordination with Dr. Loren Hill. Who was director of the zoology department and biological research at the University of Oklahoma at the time. Dr. Hill's extensive study of bass behavior in various water conditions with stimuli to get the bass to react in specified ways, yielded the lure color chart and water clarity scale seen on this and similar units. It is to Dr. Hill that we owe a debt of thanks for such developments. When opening the package. You will notice several color swatches on 3 distinct bands around the meter face. There is a scale for clear water, one for stained water, and one for muddy water. To use the unit: 1. Remove the screw from the back ... morecover and gently remove the cover by holding the front bezel on the instrument and pulling on the handle. 2. This will expose the battery holder. Place the 9 volt battery in the compartment observing correct polarity; positive(+) to positive(+) and negative( to negative( 3. Replace the cover and secure it with he screw removed in step 1. 4. If the probe disappears beyond the 4 foot depth, use the clear water scale. 6. Allow the probe to descend to the depth you will be fishing. 7. Position the bat-handled toggle switch on the back of the unit to the ON position and hold it there while taking a reading.
