It is a stable quartz oscillator for primary frequency and time standards. There are two outputs, 1 MHz and 100kHz. It was made contemporaneously with the HP 104AR. The difference being primarily that the 104AR had an additional output of 5MHz. The original specifications indicate that the 103AR and the 104AR had a long and short term stability of 5x10-10 per day. I originally purchased this as a backup for a 103AR that I had operating in my Standards Lab quite some time ago. I never had the opportunity to use this unit. I recently applied power to the unit and found that the 1MHz output seems to be operating. A small button which is reached through a cutout in the rear of the ... moreunit must be pressed to start the 100kHz dividers. I found that the 100 kHz output starts but does not continue to run. I believe this is not a particularly difficult problem to fix. The unit is 19” wide(rack panel) x 11 ½” deep and 5 ½” high. It weighs approximately 20 pounds. For many years I had a comprehensive Standards lab and acquired many interesting calibration devices. At this stage in my life I’ve come to realize that many of the projects I had intended to complete will probably never get done so I’ve decided to begin selling those items that have been on the shelf for quite a long time. The Model 107AR/BR QuartOscillators are precision oscillators intended for use as frequency or time standards. Sinusoidal output frequencies of 5Mc. 1Mcm, and 100 kc are provided. Short-term stability of the 5-Mc output is 1.5 parts in 10 11(rms) Averaged over a 1 second sample period. Aging rate is less than ±5 parts in 10 10 per 24 hours. The Oscillator frequency can be electrically varied over a range of ±2 parts in 10 8 with a DC voltage of ±5 volts. The Model 107AR is designed to be operated from a regulated DC supply of 22 to 30 volts. One is included. It does not have the round military connector but is attached with pins.
