I find not keeping track of hours by plain 2465 to be a serious drawback(you wouldn't want 1 that racked 262000 hours in its 30 years existance by being left on all the time, or even with 66000 hours if it was left on 1/4th the time) Scopes I sell have clocked less than 20000 hours. For 2465A that works out to no more ON than about 1/10th of the time. Another serious drawback of plain 2465 is a no longer made fan. 2465A uses a still available fan, and I do replace them as bearings wear. The only advantage I can think of that plain 2465 had was not needing a Li battery for memory backup. I routinely replace the Li battery in 2465As I sell(doubt others do, since doing it deletes cal) This Tek 2465A. A 350MHz analog scope, will be sent to you freshly calibrated, and ready to use. Almost unused TEKTRONIX 2465A 350MHz OSCILLOSCOPE calibrated; 3 new probes @BIN
2465A was Tek's high end portable scope from 1986 to 1988. This specimen. Serial B011271 has only seen 469 hours of use. It cost $7000 new with its TV Sync option 5, but you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working as well as new. 2465A was successor to best selling 2465 and predecessor to 2465B. 2465A added: keeping track of hours on, auto-scaling(idiotproof button) and front panel knob setting(setups) memory. This scope lost its screentop logo label, but still has its handle label. These labels are no longer available from Tek, so I can't add it. Even though scope was kept very clean inside by lack of use, outside of scope was exposed over last 28 years to the environment, and does not look as pristine as insides. It cost $4500 new. But you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working correctly. 2252 is identical to 2247A, but adds an unusual feature for an analog scope: a printer port(which means it includes a dedicated slow printer digitizer) actually 2 ports: a GPIB and a Centronics. These ports are compatible with printers of the late 80s/early 90s era, such as Tek HC200, HP 2225, and other Epsom compatible dot matrix printers. 2252 was Tek's high end(most feature packed) 100MHz portable analog scope from 1990 to 1994. It cost $4500 new. But you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working correctly. 2252 is identical to 2247A, but adds an unusual feature for an analog scope: a printer port(which means it includes a dedicated slow printer digitizer) actually 2 ports: a GPIB and a Centronics. These ports are compatible with printers of the late 80s/early 90s era, such as Tek HC200, HP 2225, and other Epsom compatible dot matrix printers. Since I do not have any such printer handy, I could not test this functionality, but I'm fairly sure it works fine. 2252 is an excellent upgrade from 2246/A, 2245/A, and 465/B. The 7000 series are still popular because they proved to be durable and repairable. The 7B15 timebase plugin has had a long run from 1978 to 1992. And cost around $4000 new. They are recommended for mainframes that have about 400MHz or greater bandwidth. Its trigger bandwidth is 1GHz. 7B15 can be used to delay a 7B10 or another 7B15.
