This is a Nikon CF Plan 40x/0.70 microscope objective for 160mm tube length and 0.17mm cover slip thickness. Uses a standard RMS thread. Optics and body both in excellent condition. I purchased this objective from a reputable eBay seller. For use in a macrophotography rig. But in the end I found myself doing most of my work at lower magnifications and so I’ve decided to sell it to fund the purchase of more 10x and 20x optics. When cleaning it(which was rarely necessary) I used a blower bulb to remove dust, followed by Whatman 105 lens cleaning tissue slightly moistened with distilled water. It comes in an objective pot(the plastic container that it screws in to) And will be shipped wrapped up in bubble wrap and padded with packing peanuts in a sturdy box. This item is a pristine Olympus 20x long working distance objective. The Olympus designation is LUCPlanFl N 20x and the current Olympus part number is 1-U2B375. This long working distance UIS2 objective is from their Fluorite higher end series of objectives which have higher NA's. Better color correction and better transmission than their standard Plan series of long working distance objectives. This objective is their current model. The NA on the objective is 0.45 and it is made with a correction collar which allows for use with a vessel thickness of anywhere between 0-2mm. The working distance of the objective is 6.4- 7.6mm depending on where you have the correction collar set. This is the best 20x long working distance that Olympus makes. Since it has a correction collar it is a very flexible objective which can be used for any type ... moreof biological application. Tissue culture work, chambers, slides, etc. It can also be used for materials applications and hot stage work and can be used with non coverslipped samples by setting the correction collar to"0" The objective is not a phase contrast objective which makes it optimal for fluorescence and DIC as well as reflected light. Please make sure you do not need a phase contrast objective. The objective is in excellent condition. It appears as if it has never been used. The optics are flawless. It was tested on a microscope stand and the image is perfect. Very little to no signs of wear or use.
