American Optical 25x Wide Field Microscope Ocular
Trying to limit my collection to B&L only. So here is an item from American Optical. This is a 25x Wide Field American Optical microscope eyepiece. Catalog number 186. This standard 23.2 outside diameter ocular is a well made high magnification eyepiece that can squeeze the most magnification out of your objectives. The metal construction holds several lenses in position and may be disassembled for cleaning. Although I have never disassembled the unit I can tell from the weight that it is not a simple two lens Huygenian ocular. It is comparatively rare and a fine addition to the collection of any American Optical enthusiast. Although it is in working condition, it would benefit from cleaning. They sold new nautical and scientific instruments, and also did repair. The lot is pretty much what you see. Extremely valuable to the right person. Some sizes include: 10x- 15.5 mm 10x coated 10x Germany 10x Olympus Bi 10x- 10.0 mm All but the 6 on the right have their glass. All could use a cleaning. Vintage Bausch and Lomb Microscope Original Case w/ Ocular 5x 10x 43x 97x VL9593
This microscope is in good physical condition and comes with a 5x and 10x eyepiece as well as a 10x. 43x and 97x ocular pieces with individual cases for each. The microscope has a dent that makes the eyepieces a tight squeeze, but they still fit. The case is missing two of the clasp pieces, but is otherwise sturdy. I don't know much about the microscope. But I have tested it with a few included slides and it seems to work very well. Ask questions if you have any!

There is a very small screw(correct name is"Eyetube Locater Tab" sticking out of the barrel that engages in a slot in the eyepiece receiver tube. The slot and screw serve to hold the barrel fixed while the upper portion is twisted to achieve focus. It's quite handy to help get a camera on the trinocular head par-focal with the eyepieces. Focus on the specimen using the camera. Then use the right-H eyepiece to match focus. After the right eyepiece is focused you can then focus the left eyepiece in the normal manner and all will be par-focal. If you plan on using live view, or the camera mount itself can be focused, it really isn't necessary, but it's nice anyway. FINAL NOTE to users: For users that take apart the WK 10X/20L-H eyepiece to clean the ocular lens or maybe lubricate the focusing threads please remember to screw it back together softly and do not force the threads. At first glance it appears to be a standard diameter microscope lens. But it is actually a bit smaller in diameter(23.0mm instead of 23.2mm) This is enough difference that it would be unsuitable for use in a standard microscope! The optics are coated. It does have both a field and eye lens with a diaphragm between. There is also a small tapped hole in the side of the barrel(see third photo) The construction is of good quality. But undoubtedly not German. The coating on the field lens is absent from two very narrow edges where it appears the lens was supported during the coating process. There is a bit of a burr raised about the tapped hole. It appears to be factory-original as the anodizing ... moreextends to the threads. Overall condition is superb- coatings are intact and almost no evidence of wear. Photo set 00216 Descriptive notes- unless otherwise stated in the above description. Up for auction is a pair of 2 Bausch and Lomb 15x wide F. eyepieces/ oculars. It comes with their original box with a FG 828-x ge lamp bulb and 2 small bulbs. The eyepieces measure 1 1/8 inches tall and 7/8 wide. They are in very nice vintage condition and just need a little cleaning. Please see pictures for more details and I do ship internationally. Zeiss Aus Jena Microscope Filar Micrometer Measuring Eyepiece Ocular
This is an older Carl Zeiss Aus Jena(Pre WWII) Filar Micrometer Measuring Eyepiece Ocular in excellent condition. Has a movable X with double vertical lines for precise measuring. The magnification is 15x allowing for more exact measuring as well. The internal scale is 8mm with the drum broken down to 1mm into 100 divisions. Movement is smooth and exact with no backlash. The eyepiece fits 25mm outside diameter tubes and 23mm inside diameter tubes. It clamps in place in axis desired. Optically it is clean and clear. Professionally checked. Cosmetically shows some minor rub on the end of the chrome plated brass drum but functionally inconsequential. Looks more to do with a removed ID than user wear. The 15x eyepiece threads in and out perfectly for a sharp X and measuring lines.
