Vintage 50s GE Gumball Street Light Holophane Shade Industrial Antique Lamp NEMA
For your consideration is this"gumball" street light lamp from the 1950s. Its glass shade bears the marks of GE(General Electric) and Holophane(the actual manufacturer of the glass) The neck(fitter) attached to the aluminum head has the manufacturer Bohnalite marked on the neck(GE subbed the construction of that portion of the fixture to Bohnalite) The socket is marked GE- you can see all of this in the photos. The shade is a stunning prismatic design with facets on the inside and outside of the glass. I disassembled this light and gently cleaned it. Two screws hold the socket base and you can remove those easily should you decide to install a sodium. Metal halide, or other HID kit. The inside of the head has very little corrosion. As you can see in the photos, all of its components are in undamaged condition. The light fixture neck has an oval opening that is 1-5/8" wide and 1-7/8" high and easily clamps to any 1-5/8" O.D. pipe for mounting to a wall or pole. This light also includes the ceramic insulator originally installed in the neck of the fitter. The fixture weighs about 16 pounds and measures about 12" at its widest point(where the glass shade meets the reflector) and is about 21" long(from bottom of shade to top of housing) The NEMA head attaches to the reflector with a pair of flip-up tabs. The flip-up tabs as well as the detachable chain from the upper housing to the tab(put there for safety reasons to prevent the globe from accidentally falling during bulb changes) are made of copper and retain a beautiful green patina. With working GE Lab-Arc model H85A3/UV Lamp installed. Clean former university property. This was part of a large lot of laboratory equipment I recently purchased. The lamp head has an open slot with clips, so I'm guessing it was used for analyzing lab samples of some type, under UV light. Powers up fine, and the lamp fires right up. The transformer outputs about 472 volts AC into the lamp head, and uses regular 115 VAC input. Lamp is rated for 500 hours when new, according to info found online, as shown below, but I have no idea how many hours this one has on it, so it's guaranteed to power on, but has no warranty beyond that. The other bulb is in a CL300BF Luxtel housing(the housing is very easy to take off) One bulb retails for over 250 dollars. I am sure the housing is also a couple of hundred dollars. I have taken out both bulbs and tried them in CLV-U40. They are working. Each bulb has less then 200 hours logged on them. They both have very clear lenses so you can tell that half the life is still left at least. These bulbs are used in many endoscopic light source systems including olympus. Lucient, pentax and karl storz.

HUGE Vintage Industrial Machine Age Steam Punk Spotlight GE Search Light Lamp
This industrial light or lamp is marked but I cannot read what it says due to the rust. The glass lens is very thick and heavy. Has no cracks or chips and is marked"GE" It is a convex lens so it magnifies the light. This light does work and of course the bulb will be included. The cord and plug have been replaced and look fine but I would still double check it before putting it into use. There is no switch to turn the light off and on. The big turnbuckles that you would turn to loosen the outer ring so you can swing the light are frozen into place although I didn't give it much time to let the WD40 soak in. maybe with some more soak time they will loosen up but no guarantee on that. One of the stays that holds the lens tight to the face has been broken off however the remaining one does work so you can access the bulb. The iron ... moreparts are heavily rusted with pits, just the way I like to find things. There are some light scratches on the thick glass lens but nothing serious at all. This light is large and heavy. It measures 24" from the top of the hoop to the handle, the diameter of the light itself is about 19" 23" turnbuckle to turnbuckle, front to back about 14" Insurance is included in the ship cost. Wonderful antique searchlight by GE. Plate on front reads PROJECTOR No 27904. DL 1899954-1 TYPE PC 18 FORM can't make out training circuit volts Aug.19.19 GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY CO. The carbide mechanism is long gone but this light has been repurposed with a new 110volt Socket with an Edison style bulb. Looks great. Original concave mirror still in place. The glass in the brass front ring has been replaced with 1/4" plexiglass. The base is not original to the piece, the base was custom fabricated to display this light. The light measures 22 1/2" in diameter and 22 1/2 deep. The light stands an impressive 6 ft tall. The light assembly still oscillates and can be pointed up or down like it was originally intended. This is an old 10 3/4" tall GE Model 50 Infra-Red lamp. 115V. AC-DC 200 watt. It does work, but it doesn't get overly heated. Operates on coils and not a bulb, and is said to be for chest colds and sore muscles. The unit is in its' original box and was shipped to a drug store in Wisconsin. It has been used, and the plug and cord are worn. Last photo shows it working. The entire unit needs a cleaning, and the box is soiled and worn. Up for auction is this beautiful japanned Geco socket with mica insert. Its in good working condition. Has a good click. This one is quite early, the socket itself is 50 candle power, the shade fitter has a patent date of 1890. The fitter is particularly nice it has a japanned finish to match the socket, it features rosette set screws and a leaf/ vine pattern. The finish on both is in great condition, there is some wear which is normal for something of this age. There is some gold paint on the paddle switch as well.
