Under the square stage is a circular piece that rotates to change the size of the hole allowing different amounts of reflected light through for viewing. Both objectives(not attached in the photo) are Leitz#3 and#7. The eyepiece on the scope is a#1(no maker) the other being a Leitz#3. The original box is dovetailed on the top and bottom. Felt lined with spaces for the objective, eyepiece and slide boxes. Brass handle and diamond shaped keyhole. 12 1/2" X 7 3/4" X 7 1/2" Focus knobs work well and the reflecting mirror is in good condition. Square stage shows a little wear on either side where the slides are slipped under the clips. Brass tube shows some wear or discoloration but there are no scratches. No chips or scratches on the base. Microscope itself is 10" high at it's lowest point and weighs about 7lbs. Box and microscope weigh 15lbs.

Meiji MX4200H Trinocular Microscope - Made in Japan
Meiji MX4200H Trinocular Microscope in excellent condition. It is basically the same model as the current MT4300H model. The MX4200H has infinity corrected optics and the objectives are Plan 4x. 10x, 40x and 100x. Comfortable Siedentopf viewing head with 30% angle and 23.2 mm eye tubes. The lamp is 30 watt halogen. The scope was used for a hobby at home and then only very rarely. Everything works like new, optics are fine and it has no known issues. There may be some dust here or there. Comes in the original box. Original cost was $2200. This was made in Japan and is laboratory quality. As I understand, Meiji is the number three optic maker behind Olympus and Nikon. Meiji is widely used in college and research labs. You can't go wrong with this scope. Note: Includes Meiji plastic dust cover. Note: Meiji changed from"ML" to"MX" ... morein the name of their biological scopes when they first went to infinity corrected optics. Apparently another prominent microscope company objected to this and they changed to"MT" in the model names of their infinity biological scopes. Lens paper for cleaning purposes, slide glasses, beetle, honey bee and spongi specimens, cover glass, mounting fluid, two small sharp tools, a test tube holder and empty bottles of dyeing fluid and sea plankton. All 60 prepared slides are either bee, butterfly, and insect parts, blood structure, tiny creatures, sea life, or bacteria. The slides are all in great condition and come in the original box. Vintage 1920's to 1950's heavy brass Tiyoda microscope No. 701. Comes with 7x and 15x lenses as well as three objective lenses. See pics) This microscope is in good condition(at the least) Some mild paint chipping. Grime and a little greenish oxidation on some chrome surfaces is present- much of which can probably be removed with a little elbow grease! The microscope functions as it should. You just have to supply your own light source(mirror missing? There is an iris diaphragm type aperture at the bottom that allows you to let in as little or as much light as you would like! The original wooden box that has always accompanied it is also quite a marvel! It has two slide in racks(small chunk of wood missing from corner of one rack) for your eyepieces and lenses and even a hole in the bottom of the case where a bolt comes through to ... moresecure the microscope safely inside! Bolt is present(but not shown) and microscope will be secured in box this way along with additional shipping materials to ensure safe arrival to its new owner! Original. Unstamped"Table of Magnifications" card is present and included! It appears to be in very good(yellowed from age) condition! The box shows its age and there are probably other imperfections as well. Expect them. Also evidently missing some sort of lock and key assembly to the front door on box. Also including a modern slide set of 25 different things by Meade! Vintage 1950s B.O.C 153X Microscope Made In Japan w/ dovetailed wood box & more
Up for your consideration is One 7-1/2" tall vintage 1950-60's Microscope Kit that comes in a dovetailed wooden box along with a couple of smaller cardboard boxes with glass slides and one small round piece of additional magnifying glass(see the gallery photo& 8th photo) The B.O.C. 153x Microscope has a very nice original black painted cast iron base with a lever for tilting the scope. The elevation knobs appear to be Aluminum and work perfectly. The lower reflecting mirror looks to be pressed steel painted and with the mirror. The mirror moves very nicely and stays were you place it! The ORIGINAL DOVETAILED WOOD BOX: On the bottom of the Wooden box is a partial ink imprint stating; made in Japan" The dovetails on the box are all very nice and tight but one of the hinge pins is missing and someone has stuck a stick-pin into ... moreit so it will work. This could easily be repaired. The clasp hold the box firmly shut. The overall condition of the box is really very good. There is one small chip off the wood cover at the lower-left corner(see the 10th photo) except for these two minor flaws this is an excellent looking complement to the very nice microscope. The original TWO BOXES OF SLIDES and extra magnifying glass round; I'm not sure what any of the slides actually are but based on the information on one box(see the 8th photo) you'll see a'Blue' sticker on the box cover. The label says" Dauerpraparat Scales of Butterfly Made in Japan. One the slides within the other box seen in the 8th photo are what look like blank slides with the label that says"Made in Japan. NOTE: The extra round magnifying glass is 1-3/8" in diameter by about 1/4" thickness at the thickest point.I'm not sure this item even goes with this microscope but it was in the box so I'm including it in the sale. I can clearly see light through the eyepiece when the lower mirror is directed toward light and therefore everything seems to be working fine. There is some handling wear here and there an

It has a 15x eyepiece on it. It comes with the original wooden case(has plenty of wear) The case still has the inspection certificate that has a date of: March 30. 1951. One of the pegs on the bottom is missing, so the case sits on an angle. There is no key for the case and one of the ends of the wooden bracket on back of door broke.
