Zeiss West Germany CPL W 10x/ 18(with eyeglasses symbol) microscope eyepiece. Gorgeous optical coatings. Extremely high contrast and razor sharp images. This was from my father's medical microscope and he rarely used it(kept inside a glass case most of the time) Please note. These eyepieces can also be easily adapted to work with astronomical telescopes for high-end lunar and planetary observations. As an ultra high contrast eyepiece, these 10x eyepieces are on par with the best(approximately 25mm in focal length and O.D. of about 0.917" easily adapted for use with 0.965" and 1.25" equipment by adapting a plastic 35mm film canister to work as an adapter or similar techniques) I have found these to be exceptionally sharp. High contrast eyepieces on the moon, planets and deep sky objects- the increase in contrast and elimination ... moreof scattered light puts their performance well above that provided by most other eyepieces. Viewing galaxies and nebulae with this eyepiece was a delight, difficult to see wisps of nebulosity or fine details inside lunar craters would jump out against an inky black background. Another user who knows about microscopes and eyepieces tells me that these are either the 3-element aspheric design(exceptional planetary eyepieces- on par with the Astro-Physics eyepieces and very hard to find) or the Orthoscopic design. They outperform my friend's Pentax planetary eyepieces for sharpness and contrast. For more information: I don't know very much about microscopes. Leitz Berek Two Diaphragm Condenser This item is in nice cosmetic shape and appears to be working well. Although there is one issue to note. One of the aperture diaphragms has oil on the blades and doesn't look to close down evenly, but still does work. Other than this, all movements/functions looks to be working well. You can see from the pictures that there is some cosmetic wear to the brass.

For auction is a rare antique German compound microscope by Schutz. This is a very interesting piece that appears to be made from brass and iron(steel) it is labeled Schutz A.G. Cassel 19595 D.R.G.M. i have read that the acronym stands for"Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster" or"German Reich Registered Design" in English. This piece is pre WWII and most likely from the first quarter of the 20th century. It is very well designed and made to a high degree or quality like the Zeiss and leitz microscopes of the period. It comes with 6x&10x eyepieces and it is equipped with 10x-45x-100x magnifying lenses. It includes 4 metal conainers- 1/12 oel immersion, a#3 container, a#6L container and cedern-oel container. The cedern container is seized close and feels heavy, There may be a objective inside. It looks as if someone has used pliers or something to try to force open as container has some gauge marks on outside. I can not open with hands, I’m not sure if it can be opened again. There are two boxes full of glass slides, cleaning cloth and an empty eye dropper. It all comes inside original wooden box that is pretty beat up but still intact. The old key and lock still function. The box has a storage compartment ... morew/ lid and two racks to hold eyepieces and containers. Inside on door is original microscope documentation and pamphlets. It is missing a clip that holds slide in place. There is some corrosion on the shinny brass in several parts, this is surface damage that affects color of brass. All the metal is solid, lenses move freely and focus mechanisms work correctly. These have been used and have some scuffs and scratches but no major damage. They would be nice for lab use, collector or good for decoration in your den or lab. Some corrosion/oxidation on the metal base and slider clip. Includes it's original C-6 box with a key, some peeling and warping of the wood on the backside panel. Pull out section has three empty plastics bottles(one bottle missing? extra lens, plastic bottle with with an oily solution(bottle is leaking, I'll secure it in a separate zip lock bag) This is a estate sale find, I'm not an microscope expert.
