Tek TG 501 Time-Mark Generator/Calibrator
Tektronix TG 501 Time Mark Generator/Calibrator plug-in for TM 500 systems. Produces time marker signals. Generated from a stable oscillator timebase, for scope timebase calibration from 1nsec(1GHz) to 5 sec(0.2Hz) in 1-2-5 sequence. This unit is working and calibrated. To the best of my ability to measure. This TG 501 exceeds all factory specs. At 0.1msec(10kHz) an HP 5335A counter(with GPS-DO referenced OCXO timebase) shows a frequency error of less than 1E-5(0.00001% after a two-hour warm up in my TM-503 mainframe. I have verified that the variable timing percent error readout is accurate. I used a Tek 7S12 sampling plugin and S2 sampling head to verify the level amplitude of the 5ns, 2ns and 1ns outputs. TEKTRONIX 2901 Time Mark Generator/Oscilloscope Calibrator Tested Within Spec's!
I purchased this Lab Grade Unit for use in my shop and it has served me well! This unit is in Excellent Clean condition! It is most useful in calibrating an Oscilloscope or anytime you are testing a piece of equipment and need to inject a calibrated time-marker signal. There are plenty of pictures. So please look at them and ask any questions. Notice how clean and well laid-out this unit is designed with the covers off. This unit is very easy to calibrate. I will include a binded xerox copy of the instruction manual, which is all that I have used with this unit. I performed the following performance checks and tweaked a few calibration adjustments so that the readings were right on the money. Instead of the usual plus or minus 5% or 1% allowance.
