Bruel& Kjaer Pistonphone Type 4220 Calibrator This is a B&K pistonphone calibrator that I do not need. When I acquired the pistonphone. It was in a non-functional state because the battery pack had deteriorated. After cleaning the battery modular. I found out that the cost of the OEM battery pack was more than the value of the pistonphone. I built an aftermarket battery pack for testing the pistonphone. And the battery pack is included in this auction. The battery pack requires 6 AA batteries. Which are not included in the auction. After testing. The pistonphone appears to be slightly off with an average sound pressure level of 114 dB at 248.7 Hz, which is shown in pictures. The standard value for this type of calibrator should be 124 dB at 250 Hz. I would recommend that pistonphone be sent off for certification and/or repaired. As ... morewith all my auctions. Nice Laboratory shaker that measures about 3 inches in diameter and about 4 inches high(to top of platform) We connected it to a function generator and it appears to work as it should(go no-go test) The coil resistance is about 2.5 Ohms. The unit is in good overall physical condition although at some time it probably fell on the two terminals so they are a little tweeked(insulating/ mounting block is a little pushed down) but they work ok and were not shorting to the frame. Because of this. I am selling it for PARTS or REPAIRS as per eBay protocol. This item was manufactured by: LDS(Ling Dynamic Systems) now part of Bruel& Kjaer. There is NO MODEL NUMBER on this unit but we believe it is a LDS Model V201 Series Permanent Magnet Shaker.
