Antique brass Folding pocket microscope
A very rare Georgian brass field microscope this is not like any others i have seen on ebay. Believe this is a very early one it looks to in good condition but you must be the judge of that by looking at the photos everything seems to work well but there does look to be some lenses missing as there seems to spaces for 2 more lenses inside the box the box also has one of its catches missing as you can see in one of the photos but as you can see this is a superb exsample of a rare Georgian botanist's or naturalist'spocket microscope. Dating from the late 18th or very early 19th century i believe it looks to be in superb condition for its age and has been well looked after. Even still has the small spike to put the specimins on even the box is in good condition other than one of the catches is missing but please please look at the photos ... moreso you know what you are bidding for and the condition. If the postage costs less i will refund the difference.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fvo%7B%3Dd70f%2Bf52%3E-1417827743a-0xfd-

SUPERB ANTIQUE BRASS MICROSCOPE IN MAHOGANY CASE 1880 telescope
SUPERB ANTIQUE BRASS MICROSCOPE IN MAHOGANY CASE 1880 telescope This is a great VICTORIAN ANTIQUE MICROSCOPE In my estimation it dates from around the mid 19th Century. Circa 1870-1880, but please make up your own mind about this. The microscope measures approx 6 1/2 inches(165mm) tall. When extended, and 6 inches(150mm) when closed up. It is made from lacquered brass throughout. The instrument has sliding focusing. And illumination is provided by an adjustable mirror beneath the stage. It is in good condition with very light wear consistent with its age. But no damage or repairs. It is complete with its original polished mahogany. Fitted case. This is a fine example of its type and it would make a great addition to any collection. Vintage Antique Brass Leitz Microscope circa 1894 - Leica "cousin"
This offering is a rather simple brass microscope. From Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar(Germany) the same firm which made the classic Leica Cameras(although this was made long before any Leica Cameras were made) Leica is short for LEItz CAmera) It is rather handsome, simplistically functional, and in my opinion is very attractive on a shelf. Most of the original lacquer is still present. And adds to the attractiveness. It is engraved: E. Leitz Wetzlar- New-York No 30069. Which identifies it as mfg. about 1894, per Bracegirdle's book: Notes on Modern Microscope Manufacturers" The New York address was a sales agency- Leitz microscope manufacture was in Wetzlar. From the beginning(1849) still is. Interestingly, the present new microscopes are now called"Leica" though"Leica" was originally, and for many years, the name of the ... morevery fine and very popular camera made by Leitz, Wetzlar, in Wetzlar. The precision column top knob fine focus. And sliding tube coarse focus still function very well, and the eyepiece and objective do function also. I would not expect this to serve well enough to win you a Nobel Prize, however, while it is not really a very useful microscope, it does work- To demonstrate that, I just put a piece of multi-colored cloth on the stage, illuminated it from above with my pocket LED penlight, and took the picture shown(last above) of black thread crossing colored threads under rather high magnification- just holding my Nikon Coolpix up to the eyepiece, as steadily as I can. I think of this as more something quite attractive. Historic, and interesting to look at, rather than to really use- it is as shown- no case, no extra parts, no sub stage, just a very basic stand- I have kept it on a shelf for years, where it looks quite attractive, and evokes interest. Height measures from 10 to 13 inches, depending on the tube expansion, base is about 3" by 3 1/2" and stage is about 2" by 3" Wt. is est. at 2 lbs. All metal(mostly brass) and a little glass) No Plastic! You get

Antique Brass and Metal Spencer Microscope with E L Wetzlar Attachment No 24832
Antique Brass and Metal Spencer Microscope with Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Attachment and Spencer Illuminator Serial No 24832 All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great older brass microscope for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. There were 10 microscopes recently at a high end auction that appeared to be from someone's collection or a high end store that dealt in them. I acquired 6 of them. Here is another one of them. The other microscopes will be made available for sale separately at my eBay store over the next few days as well. The microscope scope and the lens and objective case and dials are made of brass. There is some corrosion to the brass and painted surfaces in places. The black painted part of the microscope stand is some sort of other metal. There is a 6x and 10x ... moreeye lens with the scope. Also a 3x with the scope that is not the right diameter. There are no date. The serial number of 24832 on the microscope would make it as having been produced around 1914 to 1915. There is also a Spencer illuminator with the microscope that has a great vintage power cord on it. The illuminator lights up when plugged in. There is a clear and blue lens inside. The reflector is still behind the bulb. The microscope also has some sort of brass Ernst Leitz Wetzlar attachment on it for moving the specimen around both horizontally and vertically on the observation plate. This is a really nice attachment and in very nice condition. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is two sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear. The glass for the lens and objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lenses or objectives. The microscope is 12.25" tall. By 6" across, by 6.75" wide. Nice what appears to be the original wood case, missing the original wood drawers. Case is intact, still has its' lock, no key. The objectives are a 1.8mm, a 4mm and a 6mm. Handle
Vintage Brass and Iron MICROSCOPE with two E. LEITZ Wetzlar LENSES
Vintage Brass and Iron Microscope. Both lenses are marked E. Leitz Wetzlar. The eyepiece can be raised and lowered easily and the 2 lower opticals rotate easily. The entire mechanism can pivot 90 degrees so the barrel is horizontal. The lower double mirror is in fine shape- no cracks. The finish on the metal has some nicks and scratches etc. as shown in the photos. Eyepiece lens marked"GRAF APSCO CHICAGO. USA 10X" Lower lenses are marked 5 and 7. All appears to be in good functional use to my untrained eye, but it would need a proper cleaning to remove the dust specks from the lenses. Even as a display piece it is simply stunning. Measures Approx: 14" tall at full height down to 11” Base is 4" x 5 1/2" Please Feel Free To Ask Questions Especially Before Bidding.

I am not an expert on microscopes so bear with me. I looked up listings on ebay and found nothing to compare to this one. This microscope has a brass number graduated rod with a knob that rotates on a gear to bring the lower lens closer to the main body. This lower lens has a numbered dial and a electric light with an very old electric cord and in-line switch. The base is cast iron as well as any other black part of the scope. There is no marksthat I could find on this piece so I need help there. Very low starting bid.It is in very good shape with no defects that I could find. Antique English Brass Microscope Bar Limb Design with Varley Stage Original Case
Antique English Brass Microscope with Bar Limb Design with Varley Stage Original Case 1860s Here is a great older English brass microscope for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. And remember. There is never any sales tax to our US customers as we live in Delaware, the home of tax free shopping! There were 10 microscopes recently at a high end auction that appeared to be from someone's collection or a high end store that dealt in them. I acquired 6 of them. Here is another one of them. The other microscopes will be made available for sale separately at my eBay store over the next few days as well. The microscope scope and much of the body with the exception of the base are made of brass. There is some corrosion to the brass and painted surfaces in places. The black painted part of the microscope stand is some ... moresort of other metal. There are the patent dates of October 1876 and October 1885 noted on a brass plate on the microscope. I do not see a serial number on the microscope. Nor do I see a makers mark on the scope eye lens or objective. The legs and the case of this one remind me of a Thomas Cooke microscope, but again no markings on the piece. So, you be the judge of the maker before acquiring. The scope came with a card that identified it as a English microscope circa 1860. And then that it is a bar limb design with a Varley stage. The mirror at the bottom of the scope is one sided. Not cracked or blistered, but the mirrored surface does show some wear. The glass for the lens and objective are dusty and may have some minor scratching. I see no blistered cracked or missing glass in the lens or objective. The microscope is 13.75" tall. By 4.25" across, by 5.25" wide. The microscope came with a great old case and appears original to the scope. There is a separate wood piece in the base of the case that the 3 legs fit into perfectly. The case wood appears to be mahogany. The case still has its' lock in it, but no key. The hinges still operate and securely attache

antique Spenser brass microscope
Beautiful mix of yellow brass and red brass on this old Spenser. I can't attest to its performance as an optical so it is sold as a static display item. The main focus knobs turn freely and the barrel moves smoothly. The knob in the rear turns smoothly but does not move anything. One of the objectives is a Spenser. The other a Bausch& Lomb. All the glass(eyepiece, mirror, objectives) is intact and clear.

Circa 1860, brass stage forceps that fits most microscopes from the late 1800s and many of the 1900s. *GERMAN Antique BRASS & Iron ARGUS 606 MICROSCOPE in Original WOOD BOX Germany
An antique"Argus Nr. 606" Brass Microscope. 6 3/4" high, made in Germany and housed in its original wood box, 2 3/4" x 8 9/16" x 2 1/2" high, with original hook closures. There's a paper label inside the box with some information but I don't see any maker's mark on the Microscope. GERMANY" is impressed into the 2" diameter iron base. The top section can be adjusted up and down and can also be removed from the bottom section. Condition. In good condition overall. I didn't polish the brass but left it as found. The surface of the adjustable mirror is in good condition with some oxidation across the middle section that doesn't seem to interfere with reflecting light into the Microscope. The top and bottom glass lenses are in good condition with no scratches. There is an old short closed ... morecrack in the bottom section of the brass band above the section that holds the slide that can be seen in one of the side view photos of the Microscope(as the Microscope front faces to the right) This part doesn't hold the top section in place so it doesn't affect the use of the Microscope in any way. There are NO slides with this Microscope although there is space for 4 slides in the box. Shipping weight of carefully wrapped package. 3 pounds Buyer pays shipping. Bausch& Lomb first introduced this American Type microscope ... moremodel in the year 1883 and continued production of this model with some minor improvements and embellishments through the year 1896. This instrument bears the name of the manufacturer in fancy script on the top rear face of the circular stage. “Bausch& Lomb Optical Co”(see close-up image) However, this instrument does not bear a typical serial number. For some unknown reason, Bausch& Lomb did not inscribe serial numbers on their earlier microscopes. Instead, they stamped the serial number of the instrument in the front lip of the floor of the wood case that came with the microscope. This instrument comes without its wood case so it is not possible to determine a precise date of manufacture of the instrument. But, based on its overall configuration, it appears to have been manufactured in circa 1890. In addition to the above noted inscription on the stage of this microscope there are two US Patent dates engraved into a brass plaque found at the top of the limb: “Pat. Oct. 3. 1876.” and “Pat. Oct. 13, 1885.”(See close-up image) The October 3, 1976 Patent date refers to US Patent No. 328,277 that was awarded to Ernst Gundlach, Inventor, of Rochester, N.Y. The October 13,

Antique brass microscope turntable for slides, 19th century, VGC.
Please read carefully the following report. The figures are an integral part of this description. Offered for auction is an antique mid-19 th century turntable for finishing microscope slides. History: In the early 1850s. The Royal Microscopical Society(RMS) has set the standard for a glass microscope slide at 1" X 3" Slides were usually mounted by professional mounters, covered with circular cover slips and sealed with wax circles, then often coated with decorated paper. In this process, turntables like the one featured here were instrumental. Use: The mahogany block with semicircular cutout at one side was used for rotating the brass turntable after the glass slide was secured by the two clips. It was used for ringing the slides by sealing their cover slips with a circle of wax. The specimen was covered with a circular cover slip ... moreand the edge was then sealed. Sometimes slide mounters had a particular set of colors which acted like a signature. The last picture. Showing a contemporaneous advertisement, is not included and brought for demonstration only.
