Vintage R. & J. Beck Ltd. Microscope. All Brass, made in London: nice condition.
Here we have a very nice early 20th Century brass Microscope made by R. J. Beck. Ltd, London. The serial number is 27083. The microscope is in very good condition for its age. I lightly cleaned the dust from it. And examined a piece of hair. It works very well, aside from the dust that appears under power. Most of the original Lacquer is still on the brass, probably about 95% or so. Everything works as it should. Including the course and fine focus. The instrument will tip back and stay in place at various angles as it should as well. The iris on the condenser is also functional, however, the leaves were a little banged up when I got it, so I took it apart and put it back together.consequently, I make no assertions that the iris will stay in tact after repeated use. There are two objective lenses on it. One is marked X50. Watson B3379, Para ... more4mm NA 70. The other is marked R& J Beck Ltd 2/3 14mm A. These lenses thread into a dual housing that can be rolled to select one lens or the other. The housing for the lenses slides into place on the microscope as opposed to threading on, and it doesn't seem to fit as tight as it should, though it will stay in place. The mirror is in good shape, with a little clouding around the edges. There is one small ding on the microscope. As pictured in the last pic. It is about the size of a pencil eraser and about 1 milimeter deep; it does not affect anything. Good luck bidding. I will ship International. But rates will vary; please contact me for an international shipping quote before bidding.

Antique Brass Microscope (ca. 1875?) - Dual Power, Original Wood Case
Antique Brass Microscope Double Pillar Design Dual Power Magnification This microscope was likely made in France around the year 1875. This is based on information and photos posted on the internet. I am not an expert in this field and cannot guarantee the age or country of manufacture of this piece. Two powers of magnification are available. Unscrewing the outer objective lens provides lower power viewing. It is in very good working order. Although lenses might benefit from some cleaning. I have not detected any damage to the optics. It has a double sided mirror illuminator with the concave side being damaged(see photos) The flat mirror is excellent. The multiple aperture diaphragm under the stage is in very good condition. Other than some blemishes on the finish, I am not aware of any significant defects. Please examine photos. Height is ... moreapprox 10 inches. Beautiful brass construction. Base is cast iron with green/brass lacquered finish. 40" is stamped into the yoke holding the main tube(see photo) 11" is stamped in the corner of the bottom of the stage(see photo) Unique extension arm for magnifier. Case appears original. The top and bottom boards have some splits from drying out and there are some small paint splotches on the finish. Please refer to photos of the case. The piece inside the case that supports the neck of the microscope is loose. But is present. All latches and hinges are in good order. This piece is offered as you see it and as I have described to the best of my limited ability. Please examine the photos carefully. Contact me through eBay with any questions that you may have. I will be very happy to respond. Satisfaction is guaranteed

Brass Microscope by Spencer Lens Company - circa 1895 SN# 1704
Brass Microscope by Spencer Lens Company- circa 1895 SN# 1704 The first microscopes bearing name Spencer Lens Company were produced in 1895. This microscope is serial number 1704 out of the original 3.000 to 4,000 models produced that year. This particular model is an all brass continental design with an extendable nickel plated draw tube. A horse shoe foot, and a single vertically positioned fine focus dial with engraved graduations. The original lacquer has worn off and the brass finish shows wear in accordance with it's age. The lenses and eyepiece still work but the mirror is missing. Mirrors from some of my other antique microscopes including an early 1900's Bausch& lomb jug handle and circa 1907 spencer will fit onto this microscope relatively well but I do not have a spare to sell along with this particular item. History: ... moreCharles Spencer was the first American maker of microscopes. Publishing his first catalog in 1838. Later, in 1865, he began operating as C.A. Spencer& Sons. Between 1890 and 1895 the company operated by the name of Spencer& Smith. But in 1895 it became the Spencer Lens Company. American Optical bought the Spencer Lens Company in 1935 and by 1945 it was known as the Instrument Division of American Optical Company.

It also comes in its original dovetailed Mahogany wood cabinet with working lock and key. The manufacturer of this elegant instrument is engraved in bold block letters on the back of the tripod foot. “W. WATSON& SONS, 313 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON.” Also, of interest is the fact that this particular microscope was evidently manufactured at or distributed from the Birmingham Branch of the firm, as is indicated on a supplemental rectangular Japanned brass bar attached to the back of the tripod foot as follows, “BRANCH, 2 EASY ROW, BIRMINGHAM”(See composite image that shows these features) Wm. Watson first introduced the Edinburgh Model “H” Student Microscope on the 29th of November 1887(Stand No. 2018) and continued to produce this very exquisite and popular model on through several decades into the 20th Century. There is a serial number engraved at the base of the rear leg of the instrument. “8910”(see close-up image) This dates the instrument to the year 1906, just two years before the firm was incorporated

Vintage Spencer Lens Company Buffalo USA brass & iron Microscope
I don't know much about this microscope. It is a Spencer buffalo. It has 10x. 6x eye pieces. 1.8, 4, 16 MM objectives. SN 39826. I tried to take enough pics so you could see the condition of everything. As far as I can tell everything is in good working condition except for as you can see in the pics, the upper shutter type thing on the condenser is rusty. It comes in the original wood case. I don't have the key for it.

Swift & Son London - Antique Microscope Oil Lamp - Brass / Iron
Swift& Son London Antique Microscope Lamp* A heavy. Antique lamp with glass oil container and wick used to illuminate microscopy. It appears to be brass, but may be brass on iron. Swift& Son London is marked on the base. Components unscrew as shown in the third picture(will be posted disassembled with each component individually wrapped in a solid box to avoid any damage) As shown there is significant aging/ spotting/ scuffing to the brass/ metal– in my opinion. This gives it an interesting antique look(but that depends on your preference) Not sure if it is complete. Only includes items shown. Makes for a very neat presentation piece. Antique Brass French Microscope c. 1880 C. Verick #3434, for Display, Home Decor
This is a nice. Yet incomplete example of one of Constant Verick’s microscopes from the late 1800’s, serial number 3434. C. Verick advertised himself as a élève spécial de E. Hartnack(special pupil of E. Hartnack) both in the signatures he used for some of his instruments and in his catalogs. By the mid 1870's he established his own firm where a number of different microscope models were produced, among which is the continental style model presented herein. In 1882, he was succeeded by his son-in-law Maurice Stiassnie. The base of this microscope is inscribed with“ C. Verick. Élève spécial de E. Hartnack rue de la Parcheminerie. 2, Paris” It comes with a box of lenses, but unfortunately, this microscope lacks the sub-stage aperture stop holder and more importantly its mirror. Without which it can't function. ... moreBut. It would still make a nice accent piece as home décor, or perhaps for an enthusiast that wishes to repair it. Please feel free to contact me with any questions prior to bidding. Please check out my other listings. As I have a lot of other nifty items for sale.some unusual, some vintage, ALL of them interesting! Happy Bidding! xx
Set of two turned brass antique scientific microscope lens lenses
Offered for auction is this set of two antique microscope lenses. One lens is marked"3" and one lens is marked"5" both very small around the rim of the optic. Optics work well and they come with two turned brass cylinder holders. One piece though is slightly too small to be screwed into the cap. The cylinders are marked'1" and"H 800" though I do not think they are original matches to the lenses. Each cylinder measures 2.25 inches tall and 1.25 inches in diameter. Each lens has a screw thread diameter of approx 3/4 inches. Nice shape overall- some patina. Scratching etc to surface with age. I accept PayPal. ANTIQUE REICHERT WIEN BRASS SCIENTIFIC MICROSCOPE #104355 - 1900s
Up for sale is a very nice antique Reichert Austria microscope. Carl Reichert married into the Leitz family in 1874 and began manufacturing microscopes in Vienna(Austria) two years later. This and the fact that he had some of the Leitz technicians working for him explains why his instruments are so similar in design to those of Leitz. The firm was known for high quality instruments well into the 20th century when it was eventually bought out by American Optical in 1962* Background history from NJhouseholdgoods Auctions) This antique Reichert Microscope is numbered 104355 and dates approx. 1900. It has a black lacquered iron horseshoe base and. The Tube is also black lacquered and has only a single occular lens numbered 1. It has no makers identification label(not uncommon in early microscope parts at this time) The objective lens turret supports ... moreonly 2 objective lenses The one brass colored objective lens is of the the same time period as the microscope and is marked(12) 3920, Its components unscrew and can perhaps serve as a lower powered objective lens. It also has no makers identification. The second objective lens(plated brass) is a newer Reichert lens labeled- A=0.25; Ph 15:1 250 Reichert Wien. The condenser function normally with full range of iris closure. The miorror is in excellent condition on both sides. All the adjustments move freely and the microscope is in reasonably good shape for something that is over 100 years old. Sold As Is- no returns. Fast shipping- all questions answered. ANTIQUE REICHERT BRASS SCIENTIFIC MICROSCOPE 1900's Original Box!
Up for auction is this awesome Reichert Microscope from Austria. This is in working condition and great for its age. Comes with original box. Any question please feel free to ask. This is a awesome Antique Piece! Here is some more information about how Reichert microscopes came about! The Reichert company was founded by Carl Reichert in 1876 in Vienna. Carl Reichert was a son in law of Ernst Leitz. He learned microscopy business from Leitz in Wetzlar(Germany) and then moved to Vienna to establish his own company. His company was successful and by 1930 the 100000th microscope was produced. However in 1962. The family Reichert sold the business to the company American Optical(AO) American Optical, in turn, was taken over in 1968 by the worldwide pharmaceutical company Warner Lambert. Later. Within Warner Lambert, Reichert company was merged ... morewith Jung, another microscopy company established by Rudolf Jung in Heidelberg in 1872. In 1986 Warner Lambert sold all non-pharmaceutical companies to Cambridge Instruments(the optical company established in 1881 by the son of Charles Darwin, Horace) And finally, in 1990 Cambridge Instruments merged with the Wild Leitz to form Leica group. In 1999 Reichert stopped microscope production, concentrating to instruments for sample preparations for transmission electron microscopy. Thank you for viewing our product. Box 1 contains 40 items and Box 2 contains 20 items. Included in the lot are various pieces including. But not limited to, body tubes, lenses, lens holders, rotating objective ... moreholders(for non-RMS objective lenses) condensers, milled heads, brass dovetail stock, and several other useful parts that are generally quite hard to find. Please refer to the accompanying images to see what is included in this lot. I was told by a fellow antique microscope collector that the lacquered brass body tube that you see in the images of the contents of Box 1 is most likely from an antique Nachet of Paris inverted microscope. Several of the lens bodies and the two rotating objective holders also found in that box fit that body tube. I also discovered that it also accommodates standard size eyepieces(not included) All of the parts appear to be in relatively good condition. But show typical tarnish and evidence of prior use. Some of the parts may be incomplete. Antique and vintage microscope collectors will find these items to be very useful in making repairs or for parts to complete incomplete instruments. THE MONTANA LOGGER is very pleased to offer this large lot of useful antique and vintage microscope parts with a low opening bid and with no reserve. Happy bidding! Old Antique Solid BRASS Student MICROSCOPE
heavy brass microscope about 9" tall
Antique Leitz Wetzlar Brass Microscope with Parallel linkage No 5349
This microscope belonged to my father. What he did with it. I couldn't say. He wasn't a doctor, and actually, it was just stored away. I never saw him use it. It is in very nice condition. The brass table for slides has one place on the right side where the paint is off it in about a 1/8" area. The back of the base has some marks, something sticky that is on the paint. I didn't want to chance trying to clean them with a solvent. The lenses are all good. The fine adjustment mechanism works smoothly and has no play. The rotating disc under the table clicks in solidly to it's detents, and the mirror moves smoothly. It is certainly a nicely made instrument. I believe this style would have been considered a traveling microscope, if I am reading their history correctly. Another one like this on EBay listed it as 1908. I couldn't ... moresay for sure what year this one is. The number on the table is 5349.
Antique Brass Microscope w/ Lab. Acc.. E. Hartnack, Paris
This is one beautiful in excellent condition very old micriscope. All lenses are clean and clear. Including the mirror. No signs of damage, misuse or abuse. All functions work as brand new. This must be from the 18 hundreds. I know very little about antique microscopes as I am a machinist and can tell you this is a machinist's work of art. There is a removable compartment under the table that seems to facilitate some kind of reservoir for lab specimen viewing. It slides in and out on a dovetail. Hopefully the pictures can tell you more than I can. The barrel is engraved in script, E. Hartnack, Place Dauphine,21, Paris. I would love to keep it myself but it is on consignment and so it has to go to a real Scientist, Doctor or some medical instrument collector. Anyhow, thanks for looking and maybe even buying.
Beautiful brass antique microscope Bausch Lomb with case lenses

The microscope is about 14" tall. All the moving parts move as they should. The box is worn and could stand some re-gluing. There is some wear to the scope as shown. Displays beautifully. Thanks for looking.
Brass French Student Microscope with Manual & Wood Case
An excellent quality collectible! This French 3 power compound microscope was made in Paris for Perry Mason& Company located in Boston. Massachusetts in the early 1900's. This beautiful brass drum style microsope stands 6" to 7" tall depending on whether the observation tube is extended. The finish is very well preserved and the beautiful original lacquer finish only has very minor scratches for its age. The 16 page manual is fully legible and the optics and the mirror are also in excellent condition.
