This is a nice Bausch Lomb antique Wye level with Mahogany box. Most of the the desccription is in the photos. It has focus ands cross hairs. Slight age haze. Lenses need cleaning. Wye latches work and have been"jeweled" a form of quality decoration" All functions are smooth and work as they should. The tripod threads are smaller than the usual 3-1/2 X 8 that are found on newer instruments. The bubble glass is intact with fluid. You don't see many B&L levels. This one could be rare. I'm not going to pretend I know much about these. According to the serial number this was made in 1896. This looks like it was made yesterday. There is also some extra parts(see photo) It stands 15 inches tall when extended The surface is smooth and shiny. The only problem area is on the side of the base in which someone scratched most likely their DL# see last pic) There are some extra brass containers but these are empty. The wooden box is original and does lock. There is only one key. The only other problem I see is on one side of the mirror it appears the silver is scratched. Old Vintage Bausch& Lomb Microscope Good day; for your consideration is this large vintage(1936) Bausch and Lomb microscope. Which was previously owned by the Iowa State University. The scope is in very good working condition. All knobs turn smoothly and it focuses very well on the fine tune knob(note the graduations in the ph otos below) O f course it would not hurt to give the eyepiece and the three Bausch& Lomb objective lenses a good cleaning. It has as you would expect wear and identification marks. Some scratches and a little tarnish but other than that it looks very nice. The Bausch& Lomb Bakelite light source with a changeable filter lens(I would guess a more recent update) is working now but I can't 100% guarantee that the vintage bulb will su rvive the trip in the mail- these old bulbs are fragile. But i cant see any markings other than"Bausch& Lomb optical co Rochester N.Y. and a small engraving on the rear cell barrel that says"back" it is mounted in an aperture marked f4.5-f32. weighs about 11oz and is about 2" in diameter at the front. the barrel is tarnished brass. Some scratches and scuffs. glass is clean, clear, scratch free. aperture is smooth and clean, but the ring is stuck. I could move it fine with a rubber jar wrench strap thing, but not by hand. seems more like the ring is tight rather than the aperture blades. see photos.

Super cool binoculars here with their leather case. They have a date on them from 1897 and as you can see they have signs of wear such as the cap from the case is no longer there. I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a Nice ANTIQUE BAUSCH& LOMB OPTICAL CO. BRASS MICROSCOPE with WOODEN CASE. It is Serial#22928. Probably c.Late-1890's vintage. The microscope has a Patent Date of Feb. 16. 1897 on it. The microscope is in working condition. The 2 lower magnification lenses seem to magnify and focus objects fine, but I couldn't get the highest power lens to focus. Not sure why- maybe I just don't know how to properly operate machine. I know little about microscopes in general myself. Microscope looks to have it's original finish on surface. Bottom double-sided reflective mirror in good condition. The iris mechanism in the assembly above mirror opens and closes fine. The three objective lenses on microscope are Bausch& Lomb lenses. Microscope ... morewas found in this antique wooden case which has old and worn ebonized patina on exterior surface. There are no extra lenses in the box but has three empty Spencer storage tubes for lenses found in the storage racks. Also some kind of Spencer glass plate or slide of some kind with serial#5914 etched on it. Also a full bottle of Immersion Oil for objectives. The box has no key for the lock. Seem to be in good working conditions. But there is a crack on the track for the focus. It seems to go up and down fine. There isn't any mirror, light, or stage clips, and some of the lenses seem to be dirty. It has a light diaphragm under the stage. I also have some microscope lights for sale listed on ebay. Bausch & Lomb Optical 60mm Spotting Scope Telescope 30x Eyepiece - with Damage
This is a classic B&L spotting scope. 60mm objective with a 30mm eyepiece. It is missing the lens cover and the threaded cap which once covered the eyepiece. It has been dropped and the dew shade and lens cell are dented. The dew shade no longer extends. Also the field lens has a chip on the inside edge. I have tried to show off all the flaws in the pictures. The chip does not intrude into the field of view nor does it seem to affect the image which is very good. Sold as is with no returns.
