Can't see scratching(as seen in pic) when looking through them but the tint on one of the left outer lense is spidering a little but can only see if you tilt towards the sun. Up for auction is a RARE Carl Zeiss leather gun sight case. This case is for the telescopic gun sight type ZF12 for MG/08. The leather case is stitched and riveted black leather( now brown)storage case. Designed to hold a Zielfernrohr 12(Z.F.12) 2.5 power, optical gun sight for the MG08 7.92mm, Maxim gun. The case is kidney shaped and has been reinforced with rivets and small steel plates. The lid is secured by two short leather straps at each side. The case is attached to the users belt by two longer leather straps fitted at the rear. Riveted to the lid interior is explanatory text in German titled'Gebrauchsanweisung fur das Fern Rohr 03. while the rest of the case is lined with white felt to protect the gun sight when it is stored. WWI CARL ZEISS JENA DF 6X GERMAN MILITARY BINOCULARS Serial No 514000 These binoculars are in a very good used condition. For what is almost a hundred year old piece of field equipment. The eye pieces focus independently.They are not scratched chipped or cracked. T he glass lenses likewise. The leather body covering is in immaculate order. So is the attached rain guard. As you can see some of the paintwork is rubbed and the brass is showing through. This is only due to many years of constant use. Not abuse They date from the middle of 1914-15 and were mainly issued to German Officers. The prefix DF( DOPPELFERNROHR) indicates they were used by the German military. It also has the extra feature of the optically perfect. Rangefinder Graticule,which is located in the left eyepiece.

Up for auction is a Carl Zeiss Jena 42 mm Proxar slip-on close-up lens with plastic case. It fits lenses with 40.5 thread diameter. I suspect it is a 1.5 diopter lens as 1.5x42 is written on it. So it would look like this1367983 or1367930. But this is quess. One of the binoculars eye piece doesnt want to stay on for some reason. Either missing a piece or threads stripped? Leather case is missing the strap and some of the of the hardware is missing. The top of the case is marked Carl Zeiss Jena and the center of the case has an I on it. There is some markings on the bottom of the case that is VERY faint. One part looks like the roman number III with a/ and a 3. Looks like this III/3. The other marking looks like it could be a name. It comes with both original lens caps and the original Zeiss Ikon Lens case. The lens features and integrated sliding lens hood and an integrated rotating tripod collar. There is also included a Pistol Grip that affixes to the tripod collar. This lens features Beautiful glass and coatings on both the front and rear elements. There are no scratches. Spots, rubs, or cleaning marks whatsoever. The interior is nice and clean on both sides of the diaphragm with no fungus, separation, or haze. There are a couple minute dust specs that are scarecely noticeable and I guarantee will never show in your images or enlargements. The seven blade diaphragm looks and works like ... morenew. It is fast and snappy and shows no wear or oil on the blades. The lens mount looks and works perfect locking up tight and straight on the camera body with perfect latch and release functions. The lens body looks great with no dings, dents, scrapes, scratches, brassing, or finish wear. The filter ring is perfectly round with perfect threads. The sliding integrated lens hood stores and deploys smoothly and is nice and snug. The rotating tripod collar moves smoothly and locks up easily at any position. Just a Fantastic piece of Carl Zeiss glass! The lens case is in pretty good shape too. I would mention two things. There was a small piece of foam on the bottom of the lid that is meant to compress against the lens to hold it snug. this was old and sticky so I removed it. You can easily glue a new piece in place if your want. Secondly. There is a round sleeve meant to hold the pistol grip that came unglued from the side. If you have some epoxy or a hot glue gun, you can easily restore this as well, The case, strap, and lining are otherwise in great shape. The housing of this particular lens is in excellent condition exhibiting some normal signs of use that includes some blemishing. Scratching, and brightlining on the more vulnerable of surfaces. The focus is smooth, the diaphragm is snappy, and the aperture blades are dry and free from oil contamination. The optical glass is clean and free from fungi, haze, separation, coating flaws, cleaning marks, blemishing, and scratching. A penlight reveals some speckles of internal dust that will obviously have no affect upon rendered image quality. The bubble case is in rough condition but still functional.
