This auction is for a wonderful piece of Art pottery from Weller. This is a water lily Frog bowl from Weller's Coppertone series. This one measures about 11" long and 8" wide. It has that beautiful mottled green and copper glaze that the series is famous for. On the one end sits a adorable little frog next to a water lily. Vintage Weller Forest Pattern Bowl
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction! This auction is for a beautiful piece of Weller(signed) pottery in the Forest pattern from the early part of the 20th century. The bowl measures 8" across and 3-5/8" tall. The dimensional Forest pattern is exquisite. And the colors are lovely. The exterior of the bowl is in very nice condition. On the inside, there is a flake/chip that is approximately 1-1/4" long and 1/2" tall and a hairline crack that does not penetrate to the exterior. Windle but the hitch is that she is credited for working on the Etna pattern. There was another artist that worked on the Louwelsa and his signature is an"A" W" His name is Albert Wilson! So my question about this pretty vase ... moreis: Did Helen B. Windle also work on Louwelsa? Did Albert Wilson sometimes leave off the top of his"A" I'm sure that there are expert e-bayer's out there who maybe able to answer the questions. All opinions welcome! Rare Large 8" Early Antique WELLER Pottery Art Deco Planter Signed
Beautiful and unusual large art deco Weller planter ~ decorated with Asian style floral medallions. Garlands and latticework in a variety of greens and rust browns with the flower blossoms being a raspberry pink ~ the whole exterior decoration is in deep relief work, showing off the lighter natural clay design underneath the glaze to its full advantage. This piece has a wonderful raised and smooth texture to it! Measures 8" tall, 9 1/2" across top from rim outer edge to outer edge, rim itself is approx. 1/2" or 14mm, bottom is 6 1/4" across. Weight is approx. 5.6 lbs. Stamped(incised) on bottom"WELLER" with a"WD" the number 14 appears to have been written on with brown glaze. Very good to excellent condition with a tiny hairline crack seen in picture 8 that travels about 4" down the interior side. ... moreThere are several tiny chips to the glaze I have tried to show in pictures 7 and 9, also one along the bottom edge at 2 o'clock in the second picture. Picture 10 shows the raised design on the very bottom having 4" flattened underneath the glaze. On Mar-25-13 at 05:02:03 PDT. Seller added the following information: As seen from my other posting from the last 6 months. My Dad went overboard collecting this pattern as his mother had two pieces, and he spent 25 years going to flea markets buying many different ardsley patterns. Of the 15 or so pieces I sold on Ebay, only one was found to have some damage I over looked. I am no expert on pottery, and can send more pictures if need. I try to show all angles.

Up for bids is an incredible Vintage 1920s Weller Tu tone Vase. This is an estate find and is in wonderful shape! 7" tall. NO crazing. Th ere is one flea-bite chip on the rim that has a VINTAGE repair. See photos) Naturalistic Embossed Designs and the Tu tone glaze were popular with Weller during the 1920s. Tu tone glaze features a dark burgundy color fading to an deep emerald green at the base. Embossing is highlighted in the emerald green. The finish is matte. Vase has the Weller Pottery Black Ink Stamp Mark with Wavy bottom that was used exclusively in the 1920s. Faded with age but still identifiable. There is also an Artist Signature in blue ink underneath the glaze. We knew it was early. But imagine our excitment when we looked up the reference book, ours is Jean Dale 9th Edition, and found no actual photograph, and the words None known to exist. In fact in our research we have found one other. Which was ... moresold at Christie's auction house in 2007, but to our knowledge, that's it! This is a Royal Doulton figure of the Dicken's character Tony Weller. HN346, designed by Charles J Noke. The figure differs from other figures of Tony Weller. As it has a rich royal blue blanket and a yellow bow tie. It has a green, brown, blue colourway, and was released between 1919 and 1938. The figure stands 10.5 inches. Or 26.7cm high. It is particularly well marked, being both signed to the base and impressed Noke to the back. The HN number is a little hard to see at first. Being slightly under the base rim. It is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks or crazing. There is no evidence of any repairs. We have really closely examined this great figure. And have found a few minor rough patches, which we believe are small firing faults, particularly evident on the blue area and umnder the clothing, and photographed for your inspection. WELLER Florenzo Square Planter - NR
WELLER Florenzo square planter. Approx. 3-1/2" high x 5" accross. The images show all four sides. One side appears to have a manufacturing flaw. If you look at the detail there appears to be an extra leaf shape on one side and a rough spot over the middle leaf. I'm guessing a"blob" of clay either from another fired piece or extra clay attached itself to the piece after it was glazed. There is also a tight stress crack leading up from the center leaf. No doubt from the removal of the excess clay. The balance of the piece shows no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is the usual vintage crazing but it is only visible up close. The bottom is marked with a full kiln. There is some residue on the base that can be removed. I took some off with soap and water but it needs something stronger. Thank you for looking.

Here is a fabulous rare. Old, antique set of 5 Charles Dickens characters which include: 1. Sam Weller" from Charles Dickens' novel"The Pickwick Papers" 2. Mr. Weller" from Charles Dickens' novel"The Pickwick Papers" 3. Martin Chuzzlewit" from Charles Dickens' novel"The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit" 4. Pecksniff" from Charles Dickens' novel"The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit" and 5. Bumble" from Charles Dickens' novel"Oliver Twist" The front is of each is inscribed with the characters name. And the back of Each has an inscribed mold number for the character. The bottom of each piece is stamped"Germany" These pieces are at least 100-150 years old and are VERY HARD-TO-FIND. This little hand painted bud vase. Is awesome. The vase has a great flower scene that is covered in a heavy glaze that is soft and thick. It's in perfect condition. No chips or cracks. 6 1/4" tall x 2 1/2" widest. If you or your spouse think a rose bud or single flower is special. Then don't forget to get a special place to put those special memories. Marked in old script 1655 on the bottom. I believe this piece is from the 1890 to1910 time frame. Great gift for collector. Or home, cabin, or office. Good luck. Great matte two colored glaze and a well articulated form with a pretty demure maiden that is more in the Art Nouveau aesthetic than ... moreArt Deco but this is clearly a transitional piece. This character is referred to as"Lydia" she was created in two different forms.the standing centerpiece(which this example is) and the"Lydia" wall pocket vase which we previously listed on ebay that ends this weekend. The line is called"Hobart" and is from around the 1915- 1928 time period. The style is called" Lavonia" which was produced about in the middle of that timeline- Lavonia features a mixed base color of lavender for her person and a very light blue over the lavender base for her dress. She stands a full 11 inches tall and is 8 1/4 across the form to her outer wrists which hold her skirt. She has 2 flower pockets in the back.The depth of base is a full 3 1/2 inches. This form and example of Weller Art Pottery is pictured on the cover of"All About Weller Book II" Rudolph Lorber designed this line for Weller as early as 1915. It continues to be a very popular line for collectors and it is quite scarce. This example is unmarked.
