Up for auction is a vintage collectable South Bend Lathe. Inc machinist's advertising ruler or scale. It has a depth vernier pocket clip marked"executive" and a complete decimal equivalent chart on the back side in 1/64ths of an inch. The scale itself reads in 1/16ths and 1/64ths of an inch. Condition is Very Good or better with very slight staining and various minor surface scratches. Check out the pictures and be the final judge. The writing and scale markings are engraved into the surface, not just printed on like a cheap modern scale. If you collect South Bend items. This might be a really nice addition. Being an old tool. South Bend Lathe 117-C 16" swing 6'bed for parts
This lathe was a good working machine. My father bought it for spare parts for his other lathe. The guy he got it from was trying to move it to the other side of his shop and it fell over. It cracked the bed and broke some of the handles so he sold it. My dad needed the chuck and one handle. But he stored the lathe for spare parts, but never really used any more parts. There are still plenty of good useable parts or it could be used as a polishing lathe. Look at the photos carefully and ask any questions. I do not want ship this item. Local pickup is preferred.
