Some characteristics of the three: The Medium Size Iron: On the band around the wooden handle is the date Nov 10. 83(this is 1883) The handle is 6" long with a diameter of 1 1/4" The hand forged shaft is 7/16" square. The copper heating iron portion is 6 1/4" long by 7/8" square. The total length is 19" long. Weighs 1 lb. 8.2 oz. Very nice patina on the entire tool. This is a Mercury No 4 soldering iron by the Vulcan Electrical Co. The iron is in perfect working condition. Rated for 80 watts. The cord is excellent, as is the handle. The auction will be shipped to your Pay Pal address. Use the calculator for S&H in the US. Somewhat higher elsewhere. Out of country folks should advise their address for an accurate shipping charge. My experience shipping to Canada is, if I can get the auction in a padded envelope, the charge is about the same as shipping in the US. However, if it must go in a carton or box, charges go up and have to be recalculated for your postal code. When the shipping weight exceeds 4lbs, all out of country shipments must go by Priority air mail. Regular mail rates(1st Class mail) no longer apply, and can’t be used. Both of the variable output soldering iron outlets work and smoothly control the temperature of a pair of soldering iron. The vacuum pump does NOT work- it will run when the footswitch is depressed but there is no vacuum or pressure. No soldering irons are included- just the unit and foot-switch as shown in the photos. Repair it. Use as a parts unit, or just use it as variable temperature control for a single or pair of irons. Sold"AS IS" and without warranty but it is as described. I have recently retired. And have been collecting and accumulating all sorts of ham and vintage radio gear as well as test equipment for many years(almost 50) so it is time to part with much of it that I no longer have a need for. Soldering Iron is used and missing the tip and screw that holds the tip but that soldering iron does work and it DOES get hot. Some of the paint on the handle is chipping away.
