This is a nice clean Miller Spectrum 650 Cut Force Plasma Cutter it has a 5/8 steel cutting capacity. This unit has been sparingly used as can be seen in pictures. This will operate on single phase and three phase power via residential and or commercial at High 460/ 480 or Low 208/ 240 voltage. Currently set up for 480 Volt 3 phase with a 10/4 SO cord tail that will only work for three phase power. This can be used as single phase but the power cord size will have to be increased to accommodate the higher amperage as per NEC. 3 Phase Toroidal Transformer from 1 KW RF Plasma Cutter ~ 30 VDC Output Voltage
3 Phase Toroidal Power Transformer Removed from RF plasma cutter. Schematic diagram at bottom I personally removed this from an operational plasma cutter. We sold the 1 KW RF amplifier last year, This transformer fed a 40 amp diode rectifier array, though based on the wire gauges on the transformer I think that rating was overkill. The output filter caps connected after the diode array were rated at 35VDC, so using 30 volts it would take 33 amps to get 1 kw of power, divide that by 3 for the three transformers and each toroidal transformer would be contributing just over 11 amps which sounds right for the wire gauge. I don't know much about 3 phase power. So I drew up the wiring diagram of this transformer. There is an extra set if wires connected to the input that went to other power circuitry. I am assuming that the blue wires are centertap and the red wires the outer windings, not having a milli ohm meter I am not totally sure. I did unhook the correct wires on one toroid set to verifiy that the brown pair is separate from the others, and the red and blue wires are a set. Hypertherm plasma cutter Max 42 Good PAC120 torch, inop power supply
My dealer looked at this and said it has two bad boards and his guy does not fix one of them. I had to buy a new one. This power supply may or may not be fixable by someone else. The torch is fine. Has new consumables installed and consumables can still be purchased. A new torch for units of this era is almost $500. I will only charge actual shipping cost. Item weighs about 50 lbs and will ship from 38103. I'll pay to have it professionally packed. If you buy it and just want the torch no problem, figure 7 lbs from 38103 and I will only charge cost to ship either way.
