WINKEL GOTTINGEN ANTIQUE BRASS MICROSCOPE STATIV V STAND WITH LOW SN 1018, DATED 1886 You are invited to purchase a very early antique brass monocular microscope manufactured by Rudolf Winkel of Gottingen. Germany. This instrument, which is built upon his Stativ V(or Stand V) is signed on the rear portion ... moreof the limb, No 1018. R. Winkel Gottingen, 1886. Not only do we have the manufacturer' s name and serial number engraved on the instrument. But also the year that it was manufactured- a relatively rare occurrence for an antique microscope. NOTE: For more details on the history of the R. Winkel Gottingen optical firm. Please see below. Accompanying this listing is an image of this same microscope model extracted from my personal copy of the publication entitled, Handbuch Der Allgemeinen Mikroskopie" by Dr. Leopold Dippel as published in Braunschweig. Germany by Druck Und Verlag Von Friedrich Vieweg Und Sohn in the year 1882. The similarities to the listed instrument are readily apparent. The only differences, which are quite minor, relate to the shape of the foot and the fine focus knob found at the top of the limb. This R. Winkel Gottingen microscope has the lowest serial number from this manufacturer that I have yet encountered in all my years of collecting. Refurbishing and selling antique microscopes. As such it will be a real" prize instrument" for any collector of antique microscopes. Especially for a collection with an emphasis on instruments produce
Item is used with a little rust on focus knobs and one of the slide holders is missing. The lens size is 18mm. 1.30na, oil 97x, 4mm, 0.65na, 43x,16mm,0.25na,10x.

Amazing English Brass Binocular Microscope. Circa 1870. In Very Good Condition and Working Order This English polished brass binocular microscope. In excellent condition and working like new, is a collector’s piece dating from the 19th century(circa 1870) Its lovely metal design, stylized and with fine mobile parts, is highly remarkable just like its great working order. All its parts are original and well preserved, providing a fluid operation and a high vision quality. The microscope comes in a beautiful wooden case with the original lock and key, containing also a sliding small wooden box with glass plates: samples from the late 1900s. Into the box there are other accessories such as a pair of brass thongs. The whole set is an undoubtedly interesting item in the historical field. Being an article worthy of a museum of technology. The instrument ... morestands on a solid wooden plank, supported by a black-enameled base composed of a series of curved pieces. The rest of the microscope is made of brass and the metal is in great condition: shiny, polished and with its original finish. The microscope comes with a mobile magnifying glass, to concentrrate light, with a brass stand, an indispensable accessory to operate the instrument. The glass is also perfectly preserved and contributes to the correct operation of the microscope. This is a binocular microscope and this characteristic turns it into a very special item. At the eyepieces’ base we can see some gears and a small operating wheel designed to separate both pieces to comfortably graduate their adaptation to the user’s eyes. Another curious feature is the mobile sample plate. Provided with a pair of wheels that graduate their location: one moves it forwards and backwards and the other to the left and to the right. Both characteristics turn this microscope into an exceptional and quality piece. On the other hand, the light mahogany box is also very nice and boasts fine dovetail joints. As stated before, it preserves the original lock and the operating key. All this

Selsi pocket microscope 20-60. Used. Functional. Nice collector's piece. No box, but pamphlet included.
This auction features an early 1900s portable student Bausch&Lomb Optical Co. microscope with it's original handcrafted wooden dovetailed case. The microscope is marked on the tube. BAUSCH&LOMB OPTICAL CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y. and also has a serial number of 142,410 on the eye piece which we believe dates it to the early 1900s. We are NOT experts with these, we don't know if it works as it's supposed to, we don't know all of what might be missing, and what is included is photographed, and the microscope is sold, AS IS. Please ask any questions before bidding, and be sure to look over the photos carefully. We have not cleaned the microscope or the case, leaving that choice to the winning bidder. Following is what we do know. The microscope measures about 12 1/2" tall(with the eye piece down) x 4" x 7" All ... morethe wheels turn. The turret turns, The double sided illuminator mirror is intact, turns and is in great condition without cracks or blemishes and the condenser lens& diaphragm? turn out from beneath the stage plateform, which as can be seen is missing it's clips. It has 3 objective lenses attached to the turret and includes 3 black storage cases for them. The beautifully handcrafted dovetailed wooden case has a lovely warm patina. Measures approximately 15" x 7" x 7 1/4" It is missing the handle on top, and the key to lock it. We don't know if the side lock is original or added later. It will be carefully wrapped for safe shipment to the winning bidder with an estimated shipping weight of 17 pounds. IMPORTANT BIDDER INFORMATION~. Fine Victorian Double Door Antique Microscope Slide Cabinet. 960 capacity, Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album Click to View Image Album This double-doored. Mahogany, glazed slide cabinet is the finest I have handled in over 15 years selling antique microscopes and slides. There are 20 drawers, nineteen of which can comfortably hold 48 3" x1" slides. The bottom drawer, No20, is slightly deeper and is not divided, but could comfortably hold another 48 slides. Please note: SLIDES NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE Condition Report There are various minor issues with this cabinet. Commensurate with it's age and other contemporary examples I have handled: The drawers are all free sliding. With one being a bit stubborn. Some of the original knobs are a little chewed at the edges. With one having a little more than half of the ... moreoriginal pull remaining. All of the drawer bases are pine wood and of sound construction. But each one has a horizontal crack across the width due to shrinkage(see image for a typical example) I would suggest that lining the compartments with paper would be the best way to display slides. The key is missing. So one door springs out a little(perhaps 1cm) from the closed position. This could be remedied by the fitting of a new lock, or perhaps sourcing a key for the existing one(note that the female part of the lock(not present) would also need fitting) The thin moulding strip running down the middle of the two doors has had about 2 inches of restoration at the bottom end. There are two vertical cracks to the thin panel of wood on the back of the cabinet(ie. the side that would face the wall) Patina is very appealing. Along with typical marks and dings, none of which distract from the impressive appearance. All in all. The exercise of patiently filling this magnificent cabinet with suitably fine nineteenth-century mounts would be a very satisfying endeavour. If you're lucky enough to have the slides ready to go in, it would become the spectacular centrepiece"cabinet of

SUPERB VINTAGE MICROSCOPE SLIDE CASE + GLASS SLIDES 1900 This is a great VINTAGE MICROSCOPE SLIDE CASE In my estimation it dates from around the early 20th Century. Circa 1900-1920, but please make up your own mind about this. The microscope slide case measures approx 7 3/4 inches(195mm) wide. By 3 3/4 inches( 95mm) deep, by 3/4 inches(20mm) tall. It is made from polished satinwood. The polished satinwood case is divided into compartments both in the base and inside the lid. And comes with a number of plain glass slides. It is in good condition. With light wear in keeping with its age, but no damage or repairs. This is a fine example of its type and it would make a great addition to any collection. QUEEN& CO ANTIQUE BRASS DOUBLE PILLAR “THE AMATEUR MICROSCOPE”- CIRCA 1883 You are invited to submit bids for a relatively uncommon antique double pillar James W. Queen& Co. lacquered brass and Japanned black lacquered metal microscope called the “The Amateur Microscope.” This instrument is very similar in its overall appearance to Bausch& Lomb’s earlier version of their “Family Microscope” ... moreand was most likely manufactured by B&L for sale by Queen& Co. under their name. NOTE: For more information on the history of James W. Queen& Co. Please see below. This instrument is signed in fancy script on a Nickel-plated oval medallion found on the rear of the tripod foot. “ James W. Queen& Co. Philada.”(Please see the accompanying close-up image of this medallion with its inscription) However. This instrument does not bear a typical serial number. So, dating this instrument is somewhat problematic. However, we can come close to an approximate date of manufacture based on the fact that Bausch& Lomb introduced their similar “Family Microscope” in the year 1883. So, we can conservatively date the instrument to circa 1883. Accompanying this listing is a cut of this model microscope extracted from my personal library copy of the firm’s “ Priced& Illustrated Catalogue of Microscopes And Accessories. Magnifying Glasses, Stereoscopes, Graphoscopes, Etc. Made, Imported, And Sold, Wholesale And Retail, By James W. Queen& Co. Philadelphia, ” 72nd Edition. Published in the year 1890. The exact similarities to the listed microscope are readily apparent.

ENGLISH ANTIQUE BRASS DOUBLE PILLAR BAR LIMB MICROSCOPE- CIRCA 1880 You are invited to purchase a superb antique double pillar Wyleys& Co. of Coventry lacquered brass monocular bar limb microscope from the latter quarter of the 19th Century. This instrument is signed in block letters on an oval brass plaque found on the rear of the brass base. “THE PHARMACIST, WYLEYS& CO. COVENTRY.” Wyleys& Co. was a family owned ... morePharmaceutical company that was established in London in the year 1790. Period advertisements published in medical journals of the day indicate that this company was primarily involved in the wholesale manufacture of a whole array of medical formulations and pharmaceuticals for physicians. Note: Accompanying this listing is a typical company advertisement that was published in THE LANCET GENERAL ADVERTISER in the year 1884. By the latter quarter of the 19th Century. The company had branch offices in all the major cities of the UK. Thus, it appears that Wyleys& Co. was primarily involved in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and most likely did not manufacture this instrument. Rather they offered this microscope to physicians and pharm a cists along with other medical supplies and instruments. Acting as a distributor. The microscope was most likely made by an unknown London optician under a private label merchandising agreement for sale under the Wyleys& Co. name. This instrument does not bear a typical serial number. So it is not possible to determine its exact date of manufacture. However. In the absence of a serial number, there is one clue that helps us to date this i

Scissors, possible scalpel and other scientific tools. If you have any questions. Please ask and I will do my best to answer your question.
