Vintage old 1900's Bausch and Lomb Microscope. Brass. Needs a little polishing. This is the 2 lens model. Not 3. Lens is a 10x and 43x Nice clips for the slide. And slide area is clean. All parts move nicely and tight. Nice black enamel finish with the brass highlights. Mirror intact, swivels and holds nice and secure too. Comes with original Wooden box. Does not lock. And is old so the door doesnt close tight. Dovetailed box, nice and sturdy. Measures 14" high by 6" wide and 8" deep. Microscope slides nicely into it. Box has the original lens and slide wood holders too. And they slide in and stay secure nicely as well. A nice old unit great for nostalgia. Decoration, etc. It does work. Zeiss microscope eyepiece. Kpl-W 10x/18(eyeglass) focusable. This is a top-of-the-line Kpl-W eyepiece for 23.2mm mounting tubes. Excellent optical, mechanical and cosmetic condition. NO delamination, scratches or chips on optical surfaces. 18mm field number. This is a very nice lens, that I have personally used for several years-if you need one, this is a good choice. There is one minor issue that doesn't affect the lens' performance-during re-assembly after cleaning, the helical focusing threads were started at a different point than original(if you've ever disassembled helical eyepieces, you'll know what I mean) This made the original white and red focusing reference dots off by approximately two marks-new dots were made in the correct locations. This has absolutely no effect on the lens' use or performance, only where ... morethe"0" reference point is on the focusing dial. A beautiful brass microscope made by Bausch& Lomb Optical of Rochester. NY. Patent date is Jan 5, 1915. The three objective lenses are 1.9mm, 4mm, and 16mm. There is also a metal box with a glass pipette and some other items, and slots with black cases that I believe are for holding the lenses. 1950's Vintage, Science Craft, Scholastic Microscope Outfit # 380 with Wood Box
If you are like me this brings back memories of dissected frogs. Amoebas and standing in the corner. This is in very good condition considering the years of use it must have had at the hands of idiots. See the pictures for condition. I don't know what came with it so I don't know what is missing. The microscope works and has a cast iron base. It would make a great display piece or a good start for a budding young evil genius.
