I don't know much about microscopes but this one seems to be in very good condition. The only thing I found that might be wrong is that the fine tune adjust for the platform does not make the platform go up, it will only go down, the knob will turn up but the platform doesn't go up with the small knob, it will go up and down just fine with the large knob. Stand M4, which is equipped with a Polarizing Apparatus, along with a very nicely appointed dark Cherry wood cabinet and a complimentary set of three(3) eyepieces and three(3) objective lenses in brass canisters. The manufacturer of this instrument is identified on a circular medallion found on the rear of the foot. Bausch& Lomb Optical Co. Rochester, N.Y.(See close-up image) Also found on the medallion is a serial number, 63221. This serial number dates the microscope to the year 1907. The M4 designation refers to the fact that this Stand M was offered with a triple objective nosepiece and three(3) objective lenses along with a complimentary set of four(4) cross hair eyepieces, three(3) of which are included with this instrument. In addition to the inscriptions on the medallion. Atop the fine focus mechanism found at the top of the limb is this inscription, Pat. Feb. 16, 1897. Up for auction is Monolux Objectives 4x.015. 10x 0.25, 40x 0.65, and 10x Widefield Microscope Eyepiece. The objective and eyepiece came off a vintage used Monolux No.6635 Microscope. The Objective 4x.015 is made by Monolux Japan, Objectives 10x 0.25 is made by Monolux Japan, Objective 40x 0.65 has a F with circles around the F for a band name and made in Japan. The eyepiece is a 10x Widefield and has some paint lost. The Objective 40x 0.65 has some discoloration on the metal. All the items are in working order.
