JET Metal Lathe Taper Attachment 13 x 40, 13 x 25
This is a taper attachment that came with a Jet 13x25 lathe I purchased years ago. I never used it. Then I upgraded to a newer Jet 13x40 lathe and kept it for this lathe. All the bolt holes seem to match up so I thought it was worth keeping. Well. It has been many years and I still haven't used it and I think I should let it go to someone who can use it. It appears to me that is has never been used, sure looks like it anyway. I will called it used because I am sure it has been banged around a bit being moved around. What you see in the pictures is what you get. No other parts. Don't ask me any technical questions about this unit as I never used one before.

Atlas 12" Metal Lathe (Converted to PhotoEngraver) Including Stand
This auction is for an Atlas 12" Metal lathe converted to a"PhotoEngraver. There are 2 rotating drums. One has the artwork placed onto it, and the other drum has an electric cutting head which copies the artwork onto large metal plates. The reading head uses a low power 635nm red laser diode. Light reflected from the the artwork is converted to an electric signal with a photodiode. An amplifer converts this signal to 0-30V DC, which is sent to the cutting head which engraves the image onto the metal plates. The last picture shows this setup. Photoengravers were common before laser engravers. You can use this as is. Or convert it back to a metal lathe. Not shown, but I have complete breakdown schematics of all parts. I believe this to be a Shepard lathe. I can not locate a plate or number anywhere. It was greatly underpowered with a 1/3 HP on it. I put a 1hp and it really zips now. I now have a center for the tailstock. Put a jarno#5 on it. There is a three jaw chuck on headstock. No play on headstock. Only the gears on it.no extra change gears. The carriage travels smoothly forwards and backwards. With half nut engaged the carriage feeds automatically, and there is a reversing gear to change feed screw direction. The machine is really in good condition considering it must be from early 1900s. Only damage I've noticed is part of Tslot broke off, but there is still plenty of slot to fasten tool post to.
