This is a 62 magnet lot. Some are super strong rare earth magnets. These magnets came from electronics such as speakers. Hard drives, desk phones and drives. The magnets are either steel housed or have steel and a ferrite ring around them. Some are all ferrite. The sizes range from a half inch to 2 and 3/4 inches in diameter. These magnets are very useful almost anywhere. The shop, office, home etc. Some of the magnets may have some scratches but are otherwise good. The scratches are caused when I need to pry the magnet from the steel cone. Most of the scratches occur on the magnet housing and not usually on the magnet. The 3 others are General and the two medium size measure 1" high x 1 1/16" diameter. The small magnet measures 3/4" high x 13/16" diameter. They are used but very strong. They all have their original protective covers. There is blemishes from age and one of the larger magnets there is a cutter swipe(see pic) The bottom is still smooth. The swipe is on the side. These are a matched set from a 1957 Kay Aristocrat Guitar. A view inside the one pickup shows you the internal design and that each pickup has two 1957 P-90/PAF Long Magnets. They are the exact dimensions of the old 1950's P-90 Long Magnets. 2.50” and there are 4 of them in this set. I've seen the 1950's Long Magnets go for as much as $150.00 each but as these pickups are so rare I don't want to part them out. I opened the one pickup to analyze the design the other pickup has only had the cover removed for inspection but the pickup bobbin has not been removed from the base plate. These covers are a snug fit and were not soldered to the base plate. These parts came ... moreoff of Kay's top of the line 1957 Kay Aristocrat guitar so it would make sense Kay would use a fabulous sounding pickup to compete in the high end electric archtop guitar market at that time that was dominated by Gibson. Gretsch and Guild of that era. These pickups will not disappoint you when you install them and start playing. They have nice high Ohm readings like the hot P-90's and they are a direct fit in your Kay archtop guitar that used Speed Bump Pickups too. The way their designed they are well protected from the elements so they should last for years without any problems. I do know the Kay Aristocrat guitar these parts came from dated July 1957. The owner had the guitar disassembled and had just sold the body and pot harness so I took what was left. He had recordings of him playing the guitar through his late 70's Fender Twin amp and the sound was like a hot set of P-90's and in spite of the cheap recording equipment they still sounded great.
