Up for bids is an antique hit and miss engine. Wizard, Hercules Electric Co. Auto Sparker Magneto. Guys, this is way to cool. This has been sitting in my basement now for over 20 years! I never new it had so much brass! It appears to be complete except for the oil fill hole caps as can be seen in the pictures. The Brass Name Tag! Brass bottom, brass body and even brass balls on the governor! This spins freely by hand. It appears to have a little bit of bearing wear. It even has the often missing friction drive governor and is loose. Buy as is with no returns, but buy with confidence! Wall mounted Kellogg Chicago Crank style phone in solid light oak.The oak portion of the phone is in decent condition(some very minor chipping has occurred on the edges towards the back as well as some cream paint in that area. Old Original Otto Hit Miss Gas Engine Glass Battery Steam Tractor Magneto NICE!!
This is an extremely rare original Otto glass carbon/acid liquid battery. It is in very good original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. The only flaw that I've noted is the electrode that went in the insulator has corroded away over time. The insulator is missing. The battery measures about 4 inches in diameter and 8 1/2 inches tall. The glass jar is in excellent condition with the common imperfections that are usually found in 1800's glass. The carbon is in great shape. These were used as the electrical supply for ignition on the earliest hit and miss gas engines among other things. It is very rare to find one with the OTTO name on it and I can't imagine that there's many survivors! This would be a great addition to your early engine memoribilia display or it wold even look better with your Otto engine! ... moreIt will likely be a long time before another one turns up. This listing is for a Western Electric bell box from a early 1900's telephone system. I am not an expert in these items and what I know I have gleamed from others selling here on eBay. The buyer is responsible for being knowledgable about this item as it is meant for restoration. Collecting, etc. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Also check out my other auctions for other telephone items from this era. The magneto has a Patent date of July 17, 1894 and the number 22A is stamped on the patent plate. When you crank the magneto the bells ring and the voltage across the coils was about 25 VAC. The unit is clean for its age and the wiring looks original. NOTE. What you are buying: I bought these items at an estate sale. I have no way of checking them for function and can just describe them as I see them. I have not removed any covers or cases to see what is in the inside or what the inside looks like. I have not cleaned on them except to brush off a data plate to make it readable. They are offered as I found them. I have pointed out the problems that I can see, but that may not be all that is wrong with them. I have taken a lot of good photos for you to view for evaluating what you will be bidding on. Please buy these as'donors' to be used for parts that you may need and knowing that they probably do not work. Thanks. This item is an AMERICAN BOSCH magneto MJA-C. Used on 6 cylinder engines. The previous owner applied tape on the top and wrote"HOT" on it with the date. I ... morerotated this mag CW with a drill and got a 1/2" blue spark from all 6 distributor ports. It measures about 9 1/2" long X 6 1/2" high X 4" wide. What I can see wrong are some of the fillister head screws are missing from the distributor cap. The distributor cap looks ok from the outside. Take a good look at the photos for the condition of this item. Again. For parts only. I will mail this priority mail in a medium flat rate box for $11.30. Thanks.

The bearings were cleaned and repacked with NEW grease. The points are BRAND NEW. The condenser is BRAND NEW and the distributor cap is BRAND NEW. The impulse works well and has a good snap. The cast iron flange was painted IH red.The coil cap was painted black. Any wore out screws were replaced with NEW screws. This magneto fires well. The serial number is H4629633.
