United Technologies Carrier Transicold Kubota Diesel Engine
Hello and thanks for looking. What we have here is what appears to be a Kubota Diesel engine. It was mounted in a United Technologies Carrier Transicold unit driving a compressor. The data plate from the unit is shown in the picture. I did connect a battery to the starter and it turns over just fine. But I don't know much else about it. What you see is what you get, there is a dual fuel filter system and remote oil filter along with an electric fuel pump. There is also a heat exchanger to preheat the fuel from the engine coolant, which I thought was kind of cool. I have not seen this run and don't know anything about the internals. It has oil in it to about the correct level. The water pump has obviously been removed, not sure why. The flywheel has a rotor on it, but that all un-bolts. The good news is that no longer than the tractor was run a lot of these parts are in pretty good shape to have come off a used piece of equipment. We have a used 4520 John Deere tractor with 4wd and loader. This tractor has 1050 hours on it. Weather was very cold when I took these pictures and we had not been able to wash and wax it. Seat is torn in pics but we are installing a new one. This tractor has the PowrReverser. It uses three ranges. Four gears, and a reverser to provide 12 speeds in each direction. The tractor must be stopped, and clutch depressed, to change ranges. The gear can be changed while the tractor is in motion using the clutch.
