I do not wash my eggs as I feel this can affect hatch rate but I do make every effort to provide them with clean nest boxes. I am currently hatching these eggs fertility is great. Ginger alone in the phoenix breed is something only 2-3 peopel in the USA have. It is an extremely rare gene which makes pretty much an all white male bird with a black tail. The hens look similare to a silver duckwing hen just with a white breast. Now add in the blue gene which turns all the black feathers blue and you do have a truely beatiful and rare color in the phoenix not just in the USA but anywhere. The blue gene is very rare in all long tailed fowl so do miss you chance if you have been looking to add it into your breeding program. I wrap each egg individually in bubblewrap, then place in an egg carton and tape closed. The egg carton is completely surrounded in either styrofoam popcorn or newspaper to prevent shifting during shipping. For this number of eggs, we use a medium flat rate priority mail box. We do not label our boxes as fragile or hatching eggs, if you would like them labeled just write in the comments at check out. Please allow your eggs to rest for at least 12 hours. Pointed end down after unwrapping them before placing them in the incubator. This will let the airsack settle back into place. Please note. Shipping time depends on where you live compared to where the item is shipped from. I am in rural northeast Maine, for the eggs to be delivered to the western US is a minimum of 5 business days. I will send you hatching instructions when you buy my eggs so that you get ducklings to hatch in your incubator. Muscovy duck eggs can be hard to hatch if you don't know how to do it. My colors are Black. White, Black and White(some are stunningly beautiful) Lavender, Blue, Chocolate, Silver, Lilac and many combinations of these colors. I have feather patterns in the following- rippled, barred, piebald, pied, and white-head. I cannot promise what colors you will hatch- probably black, white, black and white, lavender as I have lots of these. I have fewer of the other colors. The ducks pick their own mates since they are free-range. Eggs are candled before they are packed to make sure- 1) the air sacs are small- means fresh 2) the air sacs are attached all the way around. A nice circle- means no damage to air sac 3) no floating air sacs- will not hatch 4) no hairline cracks in the shell. Your eggs will be packed well so they should arrive in good shape for you to hatch out. I use the largest USPS Priority mail shipping box- 12" x 12" x 8" tall. The eggs are padded well in the center of the box with crushed newspaper all around them. It takes me about 45 minutes to pack your eggs. Muscovy eggs take 35 days of incubation so don't throw them out after 21 days(the number of days to hatch a chicken) or 28 days for a goose or other type of duck egg. If you have some Muscovies already. A Muscovy female will be glad to let you slip some eggs under her for her to hatch for you. I have lots of females sitting already and have about 40 ducklings available right now. Contact me if you are interested in ducklings. My birds are tested by the Department of Agriculture.
