With a full rebuild every part of the machine gets disassembled. Any parts with the least bit of ware get replaced and the rest of the parts get cleaned and lubricated. Each piece is painted separately prior to reassembly. The rough cast pieces are taken back down to cast and then get body putty. Three coats of primer, and three coats of paint. When these machines are finished they look like classic cars and run like new. We find machines to be rebuilt that have excellent ways and a core that has not been abused. this is a milling cutter I made to fit bridgeport type r8 spindles. used for surfacing. measures 9 3/8 from one cutter to the other. I used it for surfacing automotive aluminum heads, a little small for big block heads but works great for small blocks and imports, tool could use a resharpen but still cuts good. tool inserts are adjustable for height, common size for future replacement. I recently bought a storm surface mill, so I no longer need this. US only please

This auction is for the right angle pedestal base casting that supports some brands of rotary tables at 90 degrees(vertical) on a milling machine table This one measures about 12" tall by 8-13/16" wide by 10-1/16" deep. The mounting holes spacing is as follows; See picture#4; the diagonal spacing between the top and bottom mounting holes is about 10-1/32" approx. 255mm) See picture#5; the top two mounting holes are about 6-11/16" wide apart(approx. 170mm) See picture#6; The bottom two mounting holes are about 3-1/8" apart(approx. 80mm) This casting still has it's original paint from when new It has some paint chipped off in a few spots and a little very light surface oxidation in a few spots where the bare cast iron was exposed But this could easily be cleaned up with a 3M Scotch-bright pad. But I do not have 3 phase power and no way to power it up, therefore I am selling it as-is for parts or reconditioning. Currently on the shipping pallet as I received it. I will bubble wrap and shrink wrap the mill for shipping. Please note that this is shipping from a residential address and will require a liftgate for pickup. It has one shot lube. Power Quill feed, disconnect switch, and is in original paint. Back lash is about 1/4 turn on X and Y. The table has some drill marks and dinges plus scratches but is otherwise in good condition. The vary drive has had new bushings and belt. Mill runs fine all functions work good. There are a lot of good usable parts on this machine. Or a handy person could mount a ram and J head on it with modern controls. Hard chrome ways, servo motors, ball screw feeds, 15 x 38 machine bed, electronic controls, circuit boards. I cannot guarantee the condition of the machine and would recommend a personal inspection of it. Take a look at the photos and ask questions before bidding. I can deliver this mill up to 500 miles from San Diego for $1.50 per mile. Other wise the buyer is responsible for loading and transportation.

None of the pieces were connected up to the hydraulic lines. Drive/Motor: When we ran the motor/drive it ran smoothly. We were able to adjust the rpms with the hand crank. One of the side levers was set to one of three positions(3, 1-1/8, 8) which varied the speed of a bottom"dial" The Quill Feed engaged and disengaged the drive. The Speed Range varied the speed from HI to LO and also has a neutral. Some of the levers, like the one left of the rpm dial was pulled up but we did not notice any notice in the operation of the drive. Hydraulic Power Unit: When the power unit was run the motor/pump worked great pushing oil through the system with no problems. It was not connected to the rest of the system. The fan was plugged in but it turned slow. Not at the rated rpms. The True Trace was not tested. No further testing was performed. The individual pieces are not mounted properly on the frame. There may be brackets or accessories missing. This will be the responsibility of the buyer to attach this equipment for proper operation. No manuals.
