On offer is a seller restored Kern Swiss tripod with a beautifully polished authentic 75+ year old Half-Mile-Ray mounted. This beautiful combination makes a great piece of home nautical decor. The Half-Mile-Ray was manufactured by The Portable Light Company of New York City in the 30's and was mounted for many years on the deck house roof of a vintage wooden boat. The 8" Half-Mile-Ray could be adjusted from inside for both azimuth and altitude. These functions have been retained on this piece except for full up altitude. The light does work. But because it is 6 volt it is not wired. The chrome on the light is brilliant with a couple of very small corrosion spots. Because of the adjustment knobs the tripod cannot be totally folded.

And was made in Great Britain during World War II. The heliograph comes in its original carrying case with several accessories and the articulated arm needed to use it. Up for bid in this NO Reserve auction is this very nice vintage wood tripod. It is in great condition and operates nicely. It shows some blemishes on the wood that only adds to its character. I don't know what year it is from but it looks quite old. There is a marking on the underside of it that says 108. It measures 57.5 inches high when fully extended and 34.5 inches when folded up. I used it for a while taking some photos and my Cannon Rebel attached to it with no problems. Good luck bidding on this awesome tripod.
