Lot of Twenty Antique Snow Guards for Metal or Slate Roofs Called Snow Guards. Snow Dogs or Snow Birds, these cast iron roof brackets are used particularly on metal or slate roofs to help prevent large amounts of snow from sliding off roofs in huge chunks. Sometimes this particular design is called a"Whale Tail" because of the shape of the guard. The Snow Guards are made of cast iron and are true used antiques. Probably dating from the mid to late 19th century. These type of Snow Guards are often sold without the long bracket. The ones offered here are attached to the long bracket which is attached directly to the roof. They are in overall very good condition though weathered from years of use. A very slight brushing is all they need before coating with a rust resistant paint or other coating if so desired. All of them are straight ... moreand clean with the exception of three which have the following issues which can be corrected: One is bent with roof tar on it. One has roof tar on it. One is bent. The last three photographs show these three snow guards. Each Snow Guard is: 14" long by 1 1/4" wide. The bracket is approximately 3/16" thick. The"bird wing" or"whale tail" is 5 1/2" wide and 3" high. Each bracket has 2 screw holes towards the end which are approximately 1/4" in diameter. Great original hardware for your restoration project. Hard to find in lots such as this. Please look carefully at the pictures and e-mail with any questions. Sold as is. Snow Bird SnowCatcher LOT Metal Barn Roof Ice Guards Holder Melt Stoppers Clips
A lot of quantity x 109 snow birds here. ALL that are pictured- One lot. A personal item for sale. We had these installed on one of our buildings for about 2-1/2 years. It had a steep metal roof. We tore down that building earlier this year and put up a much larger one. The new building has a shingle roof that is not steep at all- so we no longer need these snow stoppers. The used ones in this lot were never screwed down. They were installed using silicone adhesive. They have a little UV coloring. They were kind of clear/opaque new. We salvaged about half of them before the old building was knocked down. About 20-25 of them are 100% brand new. We bought a few extras. We paid just under 3 bucks a piece for them- The bigger ones cost the most. Get them for a fraction of the cost here- A buck a piece- You can't beat that. They are made of? ... moreacrylic/ plastic/ epoxy/ lexan? You get the idea. I ran them thru the dishwasher to tidy them up. Only do this if you want to seriously piss off your wife. Mission accomplished. No stuck on residue. Cracking or other adverse damage. Plenty of life left in them. They have 4 holes for screw-mounting to the roof if you so choose. They are the largest clips that I know of measuring: 4 inches wide, 3 inches sticks up from the roof, 3 inches go flat onto the roof. They also have 4 gussets for added strength in the bend on each snow bird. I don't remember their snow load rating, but it was quite high. A nice addition for problem roof areas. Eight TRA One Rail Standing Seam Snow Control Clamps for a Snow Guard/Fence used on a Metal Roof. These are used but in very nice condition. The inside diameter of the opening for snow fence rod is 1 1/8" So would use a rod slightly smaller. The overall length of a clamp is 4 1/2" and is 2 3/8" high. Also includes two ring clamps for the ends to lock the snow fence rd in place. These use a set screw of which one is missing but obviously easily replaced. Colorful Metal Still Bank Cream Colored Barn with Red Roof Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Sign For Your Penny Bank Collection Details Description: A beautiful colorful cast metal still penny bank. The bank is in the shape of a barn building with a fore bay typically seen in the country side in Pennsylvania. The bank has a red roof with a stack also having a red colored top. The bank is cream colored and its bottom is textured to give the feel of the stone base or foundation typically seen in those barns. The barn has what is known as a fore bay and has three doors near the base under the fore bay. The barn shows windows on the front and sides and a large door on the fore bay. There is even a hex sign drawn on the sides of the barn over the windows replicating typical Pennsylvania Dutch decoration of such barns. The bank has the coin slot on top in ... morethe roof and has a circular cover in the bottom to open and retrieve the coins. The cover requires a key to open. Which unfortunately is unavailable. However, we are sure that this can be remedied if you know what you are doing. The bank is made of cast metal(not iron since it does not stick to a magnet) and is in the shape of a barn building that is very common in the countryside of Lancaster county. The casting is very well done and shows great details of the building such as the stones at the base, the slats for the windows, and the wood slats for the sides. This bank was purchased as part of a large collection of cast iron penny banks many of them shaped as buildings, which we will be listing over the coming weeks and months. Up for sale is the following: PREWAR MARKLIN#389 HO Tin Metal Cattle Truck Box Car Brown Roof Nickel Coupler Green car and cow portrait on both sides lithographed. Car has some very fine scratches. A couple of pin head size flecks of paint missing and a little rust on one edge/corner that can be seen with a magnifying glass[see pictures] The brown roof looks nice, feels a little grainy to the touch- SEE PICTURES. Has nickel plated wheels. There are some tiny hairline cracks, and a little larger crack in one wheel which also has a rough edge/flat spot/chip but the wheel is intact and rolls, one other wheel may have a little zinc pest or dirt on it[see pictures] Has the Nickel Plated couplers, a little rust on the couplers.
