Up for auction is a lot of Antique Decorative stamped tin metal shingles/ roof tiles/ roof panels. Tins are from the late 1800s to early 1900s in Victorian style. They are from an historic home in Edgefield SC. One side of tile is shiny/unpainted and the other has been painted. Each tile measures appx 9" x 14" Tins are sold in lots of 10 and I have over 500 available. Photos show a random sample of the tins. Condition of tins will be similar to the photos. However I cannot guarantee that the condition will look exactly as shown in the photo due to the# of tins available. Some tins have more rust or paint and may be more bent than the ones shown in the photo. All have gothic design. Tins were taken off of an old home so expect'used' condition. Victorian Roof Ornaments - Formed Metal Finials - Don't bid unless you read
I bought these from a fella who said that he personally removed them from a Victorian house that was about to be demolished. He had them for many years and decided to part with them. I used a few in my decorating. And I am selling the rest today. BE AWARE! There is most certainly a high lead content in these pieces. They were at one time soldered to the roof of a home. And the solder that is still on the back is probably lead. In fact, I would assume that the entire piece is made of lead. It was a common roofing material in the 19th century. In my humble opinion, you can seal these with poly to contain the lead and they are relatively harmless to adults. BUT DO NOT let small children handle them or keep them in the living space of children. Also, do not use them as decorations in a garden with edibles. I have not tested these for lead content. ... moreBut there is my lead lecture of the day. These are amazing archetectural elements. They are just shy of 12 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches wide at the base. They are a sheet of metal that has been formed into the convex shape that you see. It has the original paint which has worn a bit. Actually gives it a neat shabby Chic look. Has a neat angled seam to a point on four sides. Great to make a top for your vintage garden house or shed or Bar B Que. the hard roof structure is done. Measures about 16" high at point from base. Just a tad over 36" square on the outside. This is a red and yellow metal building from the erector set. It is approx 3" tall and 2" wide. The roof is red. The building has 3 windows on each side and on the ends it has 1 window and 1 door. Some of the tabs on the building to stabilize the roof have broken off. You cann see that the metal has several bend in it. I think was from storage. If you bend them slowly they will straighten out. Some the paint in missing aslo. The word erector is on 2 side. Condition is well played with- good for the age.

Log Cabin Style Bird House w/Front Porch Metal Roof 8" x 8' x 9" Cute Details
This birdhouse is a ranch style log cabin with front porch The front door has a small hole for the bird entry A small birdhouse is hanging on one end of the porch A planter with flowers. A small wreath, and firewood are also attached to the front porch The roof is metal with a wire attached for hanging I have pushed the wire down into the house. It can be pulled out for hanging.I displayed it hanging and later set it on top of a bookshelf(the reason for pushing the wire down into the house) The floor is detached& can be removed to clean out old bird nests. I have used it only for display. It was just too cute to put outside and subject it to the elements, although I think it was intended to house a bird family. It measures 8" tall at the peak. 8" wide across the porch, and 8 3/4" deep from front to back. Non smoking home.
