This is a rare Meterranean Cruise U.S.S. Macon log book for 1953 to 1954 printed privately for the ships crew. Packed full of photographs of activities on the boat, has mild stains to cover mild wear to cover, old private library label on inside cover, has a mild old book smell. The library sticker is from a Dick Hilliard. Hand Carved Hawaiian Tiki Monkey Statue Heavy Tiger Wood Log 12" tall
For your consideration is this great heavy carved wood Tiki statue. It looks like a monkey and is 12" tall and 6" wide. The way it is carved. I believe it could hold a cocktail glass. It would be a nice accessory with a glass and straws on a tiki bar. The wood has a tiger stripe and is really heavy about 4 lbs. It is finely polished and carved from a single log. Quite a unique piece and well done as I'm sure hard wood is difficult to carve.

Measuring 10.5cm x 14.5cm just a few enteries first page with gun details nicely stamped munchen heeres zeugamt 14 august 1941 then only entries on pages 10 and 11 for 6-6-1941 then 16.6-1941 with comment after test fire appears to read russland so i guess tested then set off to russia? not a common book to survive has a drawning of a boat? and some names on the last blank page overall in good used condition.

However men who wore them needed a place to store their personal belongings such as pipes, tobacco, money, seals, or medicines. Their solution was to place such objects in containers(called sagemono) hung by cords from the robes' sash( obi) The containers may be a pouch or a small woven basket. But the most popular were beautifully crafted boxes( inro) Which were held shut by an ojime. Which were sliding beads on cords. Whatever the form of the container, the fastener that secured the cord at the top of the sash was a carved, button-like toggle called a netsuke. Netsuke. Like the inro and ojime, evolved over time from being strictly utilitarian into objects of great artistic merit and an expression of extraordinary craftsmanship. WWII Aviator Log Books, Album of Wartime Photos, Personal Items & More - I.D.'d
For your consideration we are offering a wonderfully vintage World War II lot of flight log books. Personal wartime photos, training station photos and more of Sailor/Aviator Paul H. Johnson. The log books and majority of the photographs pertain to to the years 1943 through 1945. The flight logs are excellently detailed in their descriptions of dates, type of aviation machine, number of same, flight duration, character of flight, pilot, passengers and personal remarks. They also detail the squadrons Johnson was attached to, the bases where he was stationed, the places he had been during campaign, the members of his C.A.C. Crew- 14C. The Navy tenders with which he was affiliated, his flight gear and more. His hand written comments regarding his PBM flights are fascinating and contain information on bombing runs, ship sinkings, Japanese junk ... morestrafings, a plane crash he endured, several scary plane equipment malfunctions, THE WAR IS OVER" and much more. There are two aviator logs in the lot, one with quite a bit of info as noted above and the other with what appears to be a recap of the first and has few pages finished. The album is filled with WWII era photographs and personal mementos of Sailor Johnson's life and military service. It is a contemporary album which was presented to Aaron Paul Johnson, in commemoration of his Grandfather, Paul H. Johnson. The first page contains Paul H. Johnson's birth record announcing his birth at home(Geneseo, Illinois) on March 25, 1926. The next few album pages are reprint photographs of him as a child. Next is an original, period newspaper clipping announcing his departure for final enlistment in the Navy at Chicago, ILL. dated August 1943. The next few pages are again facsimile photos of youg sailor Johnson in his uniform in'44 and'45. From this point in the album, all items appear to be original to the WWII era. READ: This is what appreas to look like a flow divider but is not. the unit has 2 gear sets internally one gear has 2cc per rev(flow of.38 to 1.57gpm) And the other is 9cc per rev(1.25 to 7.38 gpm) flow so you come in with a high flow at a lower pressure and get a lower flow at a higher pressure out on the other gearset/ports the unit is rated 3000psi normal operating and 5000psi intemitant max. my original idea was to use my tractors lower pressure hydraulic system on one side to operate a log splitter setup. using the pump and this unit the ram moves fast with no resistance and a high flow and a low pressure, but when the pressure builds have a valve(which I did not determin) shuttle to the low flow high pressure ports of the intensifer to do the splitting kind of like a 2 stage pump but with just the intensifier well just dont have time ... moreat this point to make it happen. shipping weight 25lbs TERMS: items are sold AS-IS/ as described. By hand. Lots of reds, lots of feed sack material, please note the feed sack material w/writing on it in last pic. I can't find even one flaw or bit of dirt or damage. In one of the pics is a bit of fringe peeking out from a throw underneath. From the"Dark Corners" area of Greenville County, S.C. where the moonshiners hung out until about the 1950's when revenue agents put an end to most of the stills.
