Offered is an ANTIQUE WOODWORKING THREAD DIE TOOL FOR MAKING WOODEN SCREWS FOR AN ANTIQUE WORKBENCH. The Die was used to make the wooden screws that operate the vices on a late 1800's or early 1900's carpenter's workbench. Condition is very good. Having light wear and soiling, as shown. Also having a few very small chips to die case and the interior screw chamber is intact, in very good shape. The antique screw thread die case measures approx. 11 1/8 inches by 3 3/4 inches. Up for bid is an Antique Single Point Thread Chaser made in the late 1930’s or early 1940’s. It comes in the original wooden case which says NEW-THREAD. I can not read the complete name of the company but I can tell you it does state something Building& Engineering Co.Mailing Address: Box 943/ Bellevue. Nebraska/ Patton Applied For. The wooden case does show wear It has a small crack on the back by the hinge and a piece of wood shaved out of the front on the upper part of the bottom but still in super condition for as old as it is. This set is complete with a Hex Wrench. Eleven inserts from ¼ inch to 1 inch, 3 different carbide cutters and one sharpening guide. All are original! I don’t know much about this item. Very fine gold and silver metal thread has been laid on the silk in ornate designs and couched with silk floss of different colours which gives the metal threads incredible colours and tones. I believe it to have been made during the Qing Dynasty. It looks as if this piece has never been used. It is still on the full loom-width of silk complete with both selvedges. It has all been worked on deep royal blue silk. It is far more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The silk measures about 27.5" by 19" or 70 cms by 48 cms. It has delicate silver metal highlights. It has a very narrow loom width of 21.25"54 cms with both selvedges present. I am unsure of its origins. Possibly from Spitalfields, or maybe from Lyon, certainly it is a superb quality silk that would have been incredibly expensive in its day. It is in very good condition. Just minor wear, it has had some ribbon machine sewn along each end, presumably to stabalise it for framing and display at some point. The tray is made of black glass, and depicts different scenes. The back gives the history of thread. The tray measures about 9" x 7" There is a very tiny chip off one corner. The painted decoration on the glass is in good condition. There are a few small scratches on the surface, but over all in nice condition. Due to the nature of vintage items. Vintage Dogon, Mali Indigo Resist Dyed Fabric/Metallic Thread/ 50”x 60"
Beautiful vintage handwoven cotton and dyed African indigo fabric. Made by the Dogon in Mali. Textiles are dyed with the stitch resist dying techniques and each piece is unique. All the ones I will be listing are hard to find. Older indigo pieces in very good conditon, and all were used and soft from wear and washing. This piece has a wonderful stitch dyed linear“Dogon ladder”butterfly” and“dot” pattern, with metallic thread running down the length. Medium weight; 50" x 60” 5 strips sewn together; fringe at either end(some knotted and some knots loosened) Very good condition: two light spots in the center; one hole; but slightly larger than many. With lots of fabric to work with. I was lucky to have“first choice” of several containers of indigos. As they arrived directly from Africa, and have many that I will be selling, including striped ... moreindigos as well as patterned ones.
