This is such a cool book! I can't find a date in it. But in small print at the bottom of the pages there are codes like 6-51 and 8-51 so I think it may be from 1951. That date would seem to be consistent with the design of the book and its contents. But I just don't know for sure, it's a guess. The catalog includes J&P Coats threads. Clark's Threads, Chadwick's Red Heart Knitting Wools, Crown Zipper.it was sold by The Spool Cotton Company of New York. There are many products represented in this book: Mercerized sewing thread(boilfast) Nylon thread, heavy duty thread, Bondex, zippers, rug cotton, Strandsheen(embroidery floss) I just can't mention everything here. It also shows display cases/ cartons which are available for the retailer. The book is two hard covers on binder rings. Very usable and a fantastic resource for anyone who sews with or collects vintage threads or yarns or wants a reference for colors of that period. I've provided lots of pictures. There are 12 wooden spools of thread, a yellow plastic thimble, a few misc. buttons, etc. and two Liberty National Life Insurance Company paper needle holders that were probably given out to customers. Up for sale is this tiny South Jersey type footed glass salt with a single applied thread. Possibly by Eagle Glass Works, Port Elizabeth. It measures a wee 1.75 inches tall and 2.25 inches across and is a pale yellow green in color and glows under the black light. The thread has a small loss, see photos, otherwise nice. RARE Antique 1860s A.F. Johnson Gold Medal Double Thread Sewing Machine
1860s A.F. Johnson Gold Medal Double Thread Sewing Machine. Beautiful condition. Serial number is located on the needle plate. A super low 4315! This is an extremely rare machine, I can only find a drawing of it on the internet. This company was not around very long, later became New Home. The wood cabinet is in great shape. I see no cracks in the wood. No major scratches, it has a beautiful aged appearance. A decal of what appears to be hummingbirds is still intact on the front of the cabinet. It is missing the right drawer on the inside of the cabinet. The legs are in wonderful shape, a few chips in the paint here and there, but nothing major. There are still gold accents highlighting the detail of the legs. I see no cracks or repairs in them. Awesome shape, especially considering it's age. The machine is in nice shape, with most of ... morethe handpainted decals still there, as in the photos. I wiped it down with sewing machine oil to clean off dust, but I have done nothing else to the machine. The paint and decals are in pretty good shape, some worn off with time in places. It appears to be only missing a needle, but I'm not even sure how to thread it to sew, it requires no bobbin, it has a looper, and you thread it with two spools. It produces what they called a"double lock stitch" Everything turns, only tight, could use a good oiling. The needle plate is in the worst shape. It is covered in surface rust, and you can barely make out the patent dates, Gold Medal Smco, and most prominent is the serial number 4315. I can't find hardly anything about this machine on the internet, not even a picture, only a drawing on an old trade card! Very old, very rare, and the lowest serial number I've ever seen on a machine. I will ship to lower 48 USA only. I ship UPS, and insure my packages. USED 1990s White Industries Phantom Cro-Mo bb: aluminum cups. Cartridge bearings, and steel spindle. I AM LISTING THIS FOR THE BB CUPS W/ BEARINGS BUT THE SPINDLE IS INCLUDED. MY OPINION FOR THIS PARTICULAR ITEM IS THAT THE CARTRIDGE BEARING I.D. SHOULD HAVE A MORE POSITIVE INTERFERENCE FIT WITH THE SPINDLE O.D. WHERE IT IS FINALLY SEATED. That said. There are no signs of"bearing spin or burn" on the spindle. Plenty of set screw impressions, though. Another 17mm O.D. spindle may work out better. Watch for various length 17mm spindles for Klein. White Industries, Fat, Fisher etc. 122mm hollow steel spindle. 159 grams. 17mm diameter. ENG threaded cups for 68mm bb shell. Wear and scratches but the threads are good. 71g for the cup set with SKF bearings. The SKF bearings are take-off NEW. The collar set screws are all present. Threads ... moreand threadings are good. SACHS 12 X 24, 8 Speed Thread-on Freewheel
For sale. One Sachs thread-on freewheel. It's 8 speeds and it's a 12 X 24 teeth. As you can see from the pictures, the cogs are in good shape with few miles. The body doesn't stick or feel gravelly either. The only problem is that it's missing some spacers between the cogs. If you are looking for some spare parts for an existing freewheel or you have the spacers to fix this one, then I would buy it. it's a great item at a very reasonable price. There are tw o ships this could have c ome from: USS Farragut(DD-300) she was a Clemson-class destroyer. Commissioned in 1920. She spent her her first few years in reser ve. Being activated in 1922. She her time along the Pacific Coast of the US. In Hawaiian waters, or in the Caribbean. In 193 0 she was de commissioned and sold for s crap per the London Naval Treaty. USS Farragut(DD-348) was the lead destroyer of her class and was commissioned in 1934. Since the US had not built a destroyer in over a decade. She was initially used to help deve lop the destroyers that came after her. She carried Preside nt FDR to meet with a private ya cht and then guarded the yacht while the president toured the Bahamas. She eventually ... moremade her way in 1935 to the Pacific where she was the flagship of Destroyer Group 20 based in San Die go. She spent her time training men from Alaska to Hawaii to the Caribbe an. She found herself berthed in the destroyer nest in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. She managed to get out of the harbor without serious damage and her senior officer received the Bronze Star for h is fortitude in getting her to safety wh ile engaging the enemy in the air. She spent all of WWII in the Pacific where she ran screens for all several of the carriers. She a lso spent some time in antisu bmarine patrol and helping guard ships transporting supplies from Austra lia to various ports in the South Pacific. Sh e participated in the Battle of the Coral Sea. The Battle at Guam, Okinawa. Guadalcanal, Battle of the Eastern Solomons. Battle of the Philippine Sea, Iwo Jima, Kiska, and others. She earned 14 battle stars during the war. She was decommissioned in 1945 and sold f o r scra p in 1947.

Gorgeous piece of vintage or antique fabric. Maybe meant to be a pillow. Elaborate gleaming metallic thread depicting a hunter in a tree deciding upon many prey, who in turn are doing each other in. It appears to have had some some dampness effecting some of the red flowers which have bled slightly. some tearing at te bottom. Not too bad, though. Measures 52 cm square.

Antique /Primitive Double Bobbin Thread Holder w/ 2 Wooden Spools by Singer
What a great authentic antique that can double as a candle holder! This charming remembrance of our industrial past was made by Singer in the early 1900's. It features a metal holder with two antique wood spools and a tall thread guide that is attached by a substantial hinge to a solid wood base. Everything is original. The center post of the spool holder is marked"Simanco USA" The manufacturers of Singer Sewing Machines. The holder was used in early sewing factories, but I have been using it as a candle display with other sewing accessories. The holder is quite substantial. Weighing almost 10 pounds with the two spools. The wood base is 20 inches long and 11 inches wide. It is 2 inches thick. With the spool holder and thread guide. It is 28 inches high from the bottom of the base to the tip of the metal guide. The spool holder ... moreis 13 inches across and 6 inches at it's widest point. Antique wood primitive sewing thread caddy/ spool holder. Not sure of exact age. approx. 8 3/4"w x 4 3/4"d x 3 1/2"h Spool holders are actually long metal nail(18 all together) Comes with 13 spools of old thread 5 of which are wooden spools& 2 have Clark's labels on them& 1 has Star label. I do not know for sure that the other piece goes with it but at a minium I think it has to do with sewing as there is a ruler carved into wood on one side however I have no idea what this is for. approx. 8 1/2" long. Both pieces are in nice condition for their age. There is some slight seperation of wood(I am not sure what kind of wood box is made from) at seams on sewing box. This really old thread was found in one of the drawers of an old Singer sewing machine. The kind that has the cast iron pedal to make it run! I assume is is from the time of the depression. Beautiful hand made open work, drawn thread work tablcloth, great condition
Exceptionally beautiful fine tablecloth. Beautiful hand done open, drawn threadwork. In seriously good condition for such delicate work. very pretty and a good size. Excellent vintage condition. I cannot find any hole s or marks on this cloth. Freshly laundered and ironed. All my items are vintage or antique.Hence used to some degree and not split new but will be in very good vintage condition unless specified as for craft work or salvage. Being from a bygone age when linen was mostly sent to a laundry, many items will have laundry identification marks or nametapes in a corner. I will do my very best to point out any marks or defects, but being only human, I might miss something. I f this should prove to be the case.
