While true at the time& somewhat true today, that architecture left them at a disadvantage when the rest of the industry adopted home-run systems using CAT5 cabling and rack-mounted amps& source gear, and within a few years Sony discontinued the product line. DST is still a great way to get multi-room functionality easily without pulling cables if you have RG6 cabling runs already in place between the room where the component stack will be.
