Item is used and works. Only problem is the internal battery does not hold a charge. I'm sure you can buy or make one. I have not opened to look. The previous owner installed a second adapter plug on the body. These units would only run on batteries and the existing plug was only to charge, not power the unit. The 2nd plug installed powers the unit(but does not charge the battery, use the original for that) Unit works fine and had an update done to it to pick up the newer HD satellites. It has a vertical projection tube that puts an amber oval on the ceiling with the Bat Signal inside. The time just below. It works fine and is in very good used condition. The clock is 7" long and 5" high. I had to focus the projection on a wall about a foot away to make the light strong enough to show on a digital image. Projected on the ceiling from a desktop. It's less sharp and bright, but very readable. There's a focusing ring at the base of the tube and also an On/Off switch for the heads-up display. The tube can be moved to the right a little bit.
