The button to open and close the hatch works. After being on for a while there were several beeps and whirring noises coming from the machine. The actual x-ray controller did not power on due to the fact that it is not hooked up to anything right now. Available for auction is a very nice Aerovox Capacitor Tester and Resistance Bridge. This device would make an excellent addition to one's vintage radio workshop. Over all. The unit is in very good shape. I have tried it and it works surprisingly well. The only fault I can find with it is the fact that the power cord is quite worn and should be replaced. Likewise, as is the case with all vintage electronics of this era, it may be wise to replace the paper and electrolytic capacitors. Over all, it's a beautiful example of an early piece of service equipment and it would make a beautiful addition to any antique radio collection or antique radio service bench.
