Newton Heavy Duty Production Dual-Spindle Boring Machine in Great Condition This is a dual-spindle boring machine with fixed adjustable center bits and moving table manufactured in Temple. Texas. It is in great condition. It was used for a short time in a small one-man cabinet shop for face frame dowelling. Since I originally posted this I've replaced a few missing screws and tuned it up a bit. It looks like the dowel pin that serves as an axle for the foot pulley system is not original, but this does not affect operation. Its a great machine for production dual spindle drilling for face frame dowelling or other production uses. Newton BA-600 Horizontal Wood Boring Machine 1.5 HP 3 Ph Pneumatic Powered Table
You are considering a Newton Model BA-600 Horizontal Wood Boring Machine. This machine is used. But seems to be in good overall condition. We have tested this machine here and the motor and pneumatic's are all in working order. The motor and spindles run smooth with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. The hold down clamps and table slides all move freely under pneumatic power. The body and other parts of this machine show normal wear and scratches from use. Handling and storage. The bare metal parts have some mild to moderate surface rust from sitting unused. We have cleaned and removed most of the surface rust from the table slides and other moving parts and as mentioned above, everything moves freely. The up/ down adjustment on the table height is the only area that seems to be tight. The table moves up and down, but ... moreit takes effort on the screw handle to make it move. There may be some adjustment that we don't know about that would help, or a good coat of lubricant might solve the problem. We have installed a new set of belts on the machine and as mentioned above. The motor and spindles run fine. The machine is missing the rear belt guard(see pictures) It should not be to hard to fabricate a new guard if needed. Also, the pneumatic foot pedal is missing it's cover, but looking at some of the other machines listed on the web, it may of never had one or was commonly removed for some reason. The included drill bits installed on the machine are very dull and will need to be replaced or possibly sharpened. Machine is being sold AS IS/ AS PICTURED. If there are any other guards. Guides, etc that commonly come with this type machine, we did not receive them.
