This Davis and Wells boring machine belonged to my father who passed in 1991. He operated a one man custom furniture cabinet shop from 1960 until his passing. I suspect that he purchased this new but I am not certain. I do know that it received minimal use during his ownership. I also vividly recall him telling me that it was considered the"Cadillac" of small boring machines. He took excellent care of his tools and machinery. I have had it stored in my garage since 1993 when I closed the shop. I have only used it a few times since then. It comes as pictured with the factory hold down which I never saw my father use. 3 home made hold downs, and an assortment of boring bits. Thanks!

Invicta F1-15 Horizontal Slot Mortiser Woodworking Machine Floating Tenon
Used machine out of my shop. Pulled from service working fine. Would still be using it. But I had a chance to upgrade to a Ballestrini automatic model. It's a solid heavy chunk of cast iron. It's a little loud due to the sliding pulley on the telescopic arbor being worn over its key way.But the cut is not affected. New bearings, belts and pulleys would benefit the enjoyment of the machine, but don't think it won't cut slots as is. The cam clamp is worn from use and could be welded and ground back or replaced for about $300(we did it once some time ago) We didn't use the table travel stops, and they are missing, but I think they are simple 5/16 smooth rod with a set screw clamp. This machine will cut mortises in stiles and rails in short time per pocket. The collet goes up to 5/8" and uses a 1/4" drive ratchet ... moreto loosen and tighten the chuck. The chuck head mounts on a morse taper and is Allen set when in position. This will loosen over time, so it helps to keep it driven tight to the taper. Thanks for looking. Ill palletize for you. Newton BA-600 Horizontal Wood Boring Machine 1.5 HP 3 Ph Pneumatic Powered Table
You are considering a Newton Model BA-600 Horizontal Wood Boring Machine. This machine is used. But seems to be in good overall condition. We have tested this machine here and the motor and pneumatic's are all in working order. The motor and spindles run smooth with no excess noise that would indicate bearing problems. The hold down clamps and table slides all move freely under pneumatic power. The body and other parts of this machine show normal wear and scratches from use. Handling and storage. The bare metal parts have some mild to moderate surface rust from sitting unused. We have cleaned and removed most of the surface rust from the table slides and other moving parts and as mentioned above, everything moves freely. The up/ down adjustment on the table height is the only area that seems to be tight. The table moves up and down, but ... moreit takes effort on the screw handle to make it move. There may be some adjustment that we don't know about that would help, or a good coat of lubricant might solve the problem. We have installed a new set of belts on the machine and as mentioned above. The motor and spindles run fine. The machine is missing the rear belt guard(see pictures) It should not be to hard to fabricate a new guard if needed. Also, the pneumatic foot pedal is missing it's cover, but looking at some of the other machines listed on the web, it may of never had one or was commonly removed for some reason. The included drill bits installed on the machine are very dull and will need to be replaced or possibly sharpened. Machine is being sold AS IS/ AS PICTURED. If there are any other guards. Guides, etc that commonly come with this type machine, we did not receive them. I'm including 3 high quality bits at 1/4" 3/8" and 1/2" The machine has approximately a 10" square cast iron table that I've covered with a baltic birch plywood top, making the table larger. All functions work as they should. The two clamps could use some cam work but hold as necessary.
