I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) AGED/BURNISHED) base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. If you want the knobs polished it is an additional please see the other ad. Vintage Steelcase Industrial Metal Stacking Lawyers Barrister Bookcase w/o Base
For auction is one vintage 2-tier Steelcase lawyers bookcase. It features two identical sections with retractable glass doors and the top cap with the Steelcase logo. But does not have a base. A base would need to be made for it, but even a simple, rectangular wood base(painted or stained) would do. It would also be ideal for adding sections to an existing stack. It is painted a silvery gray color and has light marks and scratches common to age and use. The bookcase is in fairly good condition although the top section is missing its glass. Without the glass the door frame has some flex to it. But will be solid once the glass is replaced. It measures 51-1/4” high. 33” wide and 13-1/4” deep. The inside sections measure 10” high. 12-1/8” deep and 31” wide. The bottom section is a little taller than the other two and measures 12-1/4” high inside. Vintage Steel Metal Stacking Barrister Book Case 2 Section & Base Mid-Century
Must pick up here. That means no shipping. Too much time.Trouble and money to pack them up properly. You get 2 sections with glass covered doors that swing up and then slide back into the case out of the way and the base they set on. Glass is good, doors work nicely. The one is missing a nob but a trip to the hardware store/home center and you can find something close to it. The top one is missing a locking tab that inserts into it. It does have one. These are removable and one you get weight in them just about unnecessary as they set down inside each other with the lip you see on top. Each section you see is 33" wide by 13" deep by 14 3/4" tall on the front and sides but 15" to the top of the lid. Assembled with the base and 2 sections it is 37 3/4" tall. Paint is not original. The interior white paint is still pretty ... morenice, outside green shows wear/loss. If you would like to pick up my zipcode is 17363. Holy hotness! For sale is one of two fully-restored General Fireproofing 3-tier metal lawyers bookcases. Professionally painted in an RAL 3001 Signal Red catalyzed lacquer. Each bookcase has three identical sections with glass doors that flip up and slide back. The glass has been thoroughly cleaned and the original aluminum pulls have been polished. Each one also has a metal plug on the bottom section where a lock or something used to be. Each section is attached to the other with four small metal screws. While they have been professionally restored. One does have a couple of minor imperfections, namely two very shallow impressions on the very top; one of about and inch and a half wide near one end and another tiny 1/4" ding. This is a three stack bookcase made by Shaw-Walker one of the best Indusial and Office Furniture Manufacturing Company's of the 20th Century in America. The original green paint on this is in amazing condition. I had a very hard time showing the true color of this Green. This is much better looking in person than my photos show. This is a nice rich green somewhat darker than Army Green. There is only slight wear to the front bottom inside of the individual bookcase sections(These cannot be seen ... moreunless the door is open) and some minor scuffing around the bottoms of the feet. The top of the bookcase also has some scuffing from items being slid across the finish. This is not bad but you can see the marks if you are tall enough. There is no rust or dents to this Bookcase. On each individual stacking section on the back left side is an oval mark where a inventory or number tag was original affixed to the pieces. These are all missing and were probably taken off when this was decommissioned from a Company's inventory. This is 33" wide. 13 1/2" deep and 59" tall. Each Bookcase section is 16" high. The doors all lift up and slide properly and all the glass is free of cracks or chips. The knobs are made of brass. This Bookcase belong to a retired Lawyer in our area. As for age and maker I can not find any information on it. I do know it is at least 30 years old. The bookcase has been hand painted white and the inside is black. It has surface scratches inside on the shelves and some minor scratches and defects on the outer shell as well. In this auction is a 4 stack modular metal barrister bookcase. This was repainted by the carpentry dept. a few years ago to match the office furniture. Measures outside are: 33”w X 75 1/2”tall X 10 3/4” deep. Inside measurements are: 12 1/2” tall X 9 1/4” deep.The top was not really completely painted. But unless you’re over 75” tall it won’t be seen. There are some minor paint scuffs consistent with use and a very small ding in the frame of one the sections. This sale is for an Art Metal barrister style bookcase with glass door. It is in good condition. Shows some scuffs and scratches to the paint(mostly on the topper) and a gov agency name sticker on one side but very presentable(I was using this in my home for years as a bookcase) Includes the topper which can be removed via inside latches if desired. Measures 32 3/4 inches length. 11 inches depth, and 18 1/2 inches height. Net weight is 33 pounds. This can ship via FedEx ground. But it would be dimensional weight(76 pounds) so it may be costly. Vintage Globe Wernicke 4 Stack Barrister Industrial Metal Lawyer Bookcase
For sale is this vintage Globe Wernicke 4 section metal barrister bookcase. There are some paint scratches and a ding here and there. But it is overall in great condition. It was painted at some point(not by me) and is a beige/brown/dark gold color. It is very cool the way it is or I am sure you could change the color fairly easily with fresh paint. It measures 72" tall x 33" wide x 13" deep. The retractable doors on all sections open and close with ease and the sections are stackable. It's missing one knob but those are easily found and replaced if you want a match. This bookcase is local pickup only. Vintage Steelcase Industrial 2-Tier Metal Stacking Lawyers Barrister Bookcase
For auction is one vintage Steelcase industrial metal stacking lawyers bookcase in very good original condition. It is painted a silvery gray color. It has been freshly and thoroughly cleaned and waxed. There are some minor scratches from use. And there are two small 1/16" dents on the top edge of one side, as well as some very fine rust around the metal frame of the lower glass flip-up door. The rusty areas has been polished and waxed and feel clean to the touch; the overall effect is more of a patina than of rust. The doors open and close smoothly. There is a small inventory number etched into the top left on the front of the cap. The units unstack easily and are held together by a lever lock on each side underneath, so it's easy to add more sections to as you find them. DIMENSIONS: 35.75" wide. 11.5" deep, 33.5" ... moretall. The inside of each section measures 34.25" wide, 10.25" deep, and 10.5" tall. These vintage metal barrister bookcases look great no matter where you put them. Military style metal barrister bookshelves cabinet shelves
I have a set military barrister of bookshelves. Four shelves each, I do not have the original top portion, however I have fashioned some out of wood brick mold needs painted to match.
