This manual has a 1971 copyright date by Heath Company. ... moreThere are a total of 247 pages. My dad personally built an AR-1500 from these instructions. The manual includes parts lists. Assembly instructions, a block diagram, and circuit board layouts. There are also various fold sheets in the book including a schematic diagram. Overall I would say this manual is in good to perhaps good plus condition. The cover has a somewhat dirty look from being in storage for 40 years and it also has some other shelf wear including some staining. The interior pages are in general very clean and in great condition. However. I did notice a bit of staining on a few pages at the very front of the book and next to the back cover. In addition some of the fold out sheets have tattered edges as they did not fold exactly in the same angle as they did when first published. There does not appear to be any missing pages nor any torn pages(other than the tattered edges on some foldouts) I also did not see any marks or writing in the book other than the words"extra copy" in light pencil on the front cover. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I do combine shipping when possible and I also have Volume One of the Most- Often- Needed 1926- 1938 Radio Diagrams and Servicing Information up for sale along with the 1947 edition of the Most- Often- Needed F. I bought this years ago as part of a complete collection of vintage Heathkit SB Series Ham Radio station equipment and the 89-year old owner was using the mic for voice communications at his shortwave Ham Radio station before he passed away. It nicely matched the rest of his Heath Green radio gear(same rounded retro styling with chrome& black& green colors) ... moreThis mic is also held in high regard by blues players& those that play the harmonica or other instruments and there are a number of YouTube videos highlighting this mic. I read that t he AR-54 is nicknamed both the"Big Walter" and also the" Green Bullet" and is the same model that blues greats like Big Walter. Junior Wells, James Cotton, Sonny Boy Williamson and others are said to have used. This mic style is extremely popular among blues musicians and is a standard for serious harp players all over the world. Has good Hi-Z vintage tone and is even used by studios such as the famous Abbey Road. Comes additionally mounted on a vintage Atlas Sound 763 cast iron mic desk stand and currently has a 5-pin male Amphenol brand connector but can be wired for virtually any modern connector of your choice. The desk stand also has the provision for a PTT(push to talk) toggle switch and 2-small wires for a relay or phantom voltage or other option. Available for sale is a nice Heathkit radio receiver. Model AR-3. The unit appears to be complete(except for the feet and dial cover) and is in decent condition for it's age. Take a look at the photos below, and I think you'll agree. This unit was acquired from a gentleman who used to repair/restore older tube radios as a hobby. It has been several years since he has tinkered with any of these. So I cannot say with any certainty what the current operational status is. I have not attempted to power this unit. It is better than most of the radios in this class and has a power transformer. Which many did not have. This fairly rare receiver is in Exceptional Condition with the copper chassis nearly perfect. The front panel is perfect as are the knobs. The case is perfect but for one reportable defect- someone drilled a small hole near the back by the speaker. For reasons unknown. We cleaned all pots and switches and tube sockets. Tested tubes. Operationally. This receiver works as it should and is truly of museum display quality. Another fine used electronic product brought to you by mrfixit- quality used electronics You are bidding on a couple of vintage Heathkit items I am selling for my friend. The first is an AR-1500A Receiver which was a kit he bought brand new back in the day and built it himself. He built it in 1975 and remembers using it with a guitar speaker out on his ice rink that winter playing"The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" by Gordan Lightfoot. He had a friend who lived a mile away and could hear the music playing. The friend came looking for the source of the music. Once he found it he ... moreturned back and headed home. Found my friend in School and shared the story with him. The unit is in premo condition and sounds just like new. The second is a matching Heathkit Audio Scope also known as a vectorscope. This is a model AD1013 and this is in excellent running condition as well. I will talk about both units below. As an added bonus. He was able to find the assembly manual for the AR-1500A but it is in rough shape. He was not able to find the rest of the paperwork or schematics for either unit. He did also find and I will include the original Heathkit meter which you would build and use through the build process of assembling one of these. It has been tested and still works great. He only used it for a few years as he bought a Heathkit AA-1640 shortly after. He used the AR-1500A for a while as a Preamp and Tuner for the AA-1640 amp. Then eventually he bought a new separate preamp which he used with the AA-1640 amp by 1980. He only pulled out this AR-1500A only round the holidays to play Christmas Music for his family. Everything has been cleaned and lubed.All lamps have been replaced. The preamp board transistor(most likely. Not guaranteed, but extremely common) are faulty. I used 3904& 3906's, but that did not fix the problem. in retrospect should have maybe used 2222. Should be an easy fix, but I don't have an oscilloscope at the moment. I will include the original transistors to cross-reference from. I have temporarily patched and bypassed the selector portion so only the AUX accepts an input(please see pics) So, the center input switches have no function at the moment, but everything else functions. This is a Heathkit AR-3 shortwave/ham radio receiver from about 1957. These receivers cover the AM broadcast band through 30 mhz. This one has an incredibly clean chassis with NO discoloration or corrosion showing. It includes an original cabinet. Which was an option on these radios. The cabinet& panel are in good overall condition with just three scuff marks on the top of the cabinet. The radio plays quite well& is a great performer on the broadcast band with a wire antenna. Some shortwave stations were received on the other bands. The speaker has a few small tears, but it doesn’t affect the sound. Buyer pays shipping. Vintage Heathkit AR 29 AM/FM Stereo Receiver Parts or Repair- No Cabinet Here's what I can tell you about the unit. I got this in a bulk purchase and started to test it out. I removed cabinet and blew all the dust out of the unit I plugged it in and it powered on. The power button goes in and out bit does not turn it off or on. The dial pointer and string is detached and as shown in picture 2. I manually turned the tuner and was able to get reception but the right channel could barley be heard. You could hear the left channel. There is a lot of hum/ static coming from both channels. No further testing was done and it is too big a project for me to take on. For Auction: A Heathkit AR-2020 4-channel AM-FM receiver. This unit is in great condition both functionally and cosmetically. The dial pointer is slightly off. Tuned in to local station 96.1 but if you look at the pointer it is slightly off. Other then that this unit looks and works great! I replaced the original bottom feet with felt pads as one foot was missing. I also replaced the main power supply caps with very high quality caps and re-stuffed the original cans. Tested Working, READ DESCRIPTION Description: This vintage receiver is in very good physical condition given its age. It has some scuffs and blemishes as well as staining. There is a small chip in the top-rear of the unit by the metal grate. These cosmetic"defects" give it character and tell a story of"Hey. Look at me, I'm old school been used and moved around a lot and I'm still kicking" The unit was powered up and tested with an iPod in the Auxiliary port. The volume. Balance, treble and bass slides are all in good-working condition. All of the buttons were tested appear to work great. The AM/FM tuner is in good condition, but because of our facility it was hard to pull in a strong signal. The back light on ... moretuner works partially. The middle is the brightest and the right is less bright. But the left of the tuner is completely dim until it's no longer visible. 1971 Heathkit Assembly Manual AM-FM Stereo Solid-State Receiver Model AR-1500
Up for sale is the Heathkit Assembly Manual for a AM-FM Stereo Solid-State Receiver Model AR-1500. This manual has a 1971 copyright date by Heath Company. There are a total of 247 pages. My dad personally built an AR-1500 from these instructions. The manual includes parts lists. Assembly instructions, a block diagram, and circuit board layouts. There are also various fold sheets in the book including a schematic diagram. Overall I would say this manual is in good to perhaps good plus condition. The cover has a somewhat dirty look from being in storage for 40 years and it also has some other shelf wear including some staining. The interior pages are in general very clean and in great condition. However. I did notice a bit of staining on a few pages at the very front of the book and next to the back cover. In addition some of the fold out sheets ... morehave tattered edges as they did not fold exactly in the same angle as they did when first published. There does not appear to be any missing pages nor any torn pages(other than the tattered edges on some foldouts) I also did not see any marks or writing in the book other than the words"extra copy" in light pencil on the front cover. The very collectible Heathkit line. The AR-14 AM FM Receiver is a compact unit that pack a powerful punch. Reviews of its day note that the power rating for this was underestimated and audophiles of that era noted it was a great piece for the price. Very sturdy and solid component built like a truck, this example gives real merit to their evaluation. This Heathkit AR-14 has been cleaned and inspected a few months ago and given a good bill of health by a trained technician. The only fault I can give it is that the lettering on the faceplate has faded in places, however I've had some comment that the clean lines and clean face has some aesthetic appeal. All push buttons firm. Tuner dial smooth. All lighting works. Case body free of scratches and the front is equally nice. Item works really well. Heathkit AR-3 Receiver Ham Radio vintage 50's- TUBES HF Receiver. AM broadcast to 30 MHZ in switchable bands Has RF Gain. SSB, etc selections as can be seen in pictures It powers up. With no hum, so filter caps are good, receives some AM stations without atenna, attach a few feet wire and some stations show up on other bands The main issue is that on left side of the dial. There is static noice when you move the knob, so some cleaning is necessary, as it is for the whole radio, didn't want to disturb anything, so didn't try to clean- as I said, it would be a project The case is in good condition with some corners showing loosening granite stone finish
