There are 5 different pieces in this auction. They are all in excellent condition. The baby spoon is by Oneida Ltd. on back) has a closed curved handle. I am in my 60's& it was my baby spoon. It measures 3-1/2" long. The longer ladle has a hammered handle& smooth bowl. Measures 6" long. The best I could read on the back is?E?JB. It is different& probably used for au jus or tartar sauce. The shorter ladle is monogrammed on the top in script-L. P. M. The back of the long thin stem has an oriental looking mark with a box oriental type mark on the handle. It is 5-1/2" long. The 2 straws/stirrers have no marks on the back. One is 7-1/4" long& has a fan shell with small holes in the stirrer& no knob on the handle. The other is 7" long. VTG Advertising Sweetheart Paper Straws Lot Soda Fountain Glass Jar Holder
Here we have a vintage soda fountain glass straw holder with straws. And an additional box of straws. The glass dispenser jar is quite heavy with a nice beveled design. There is no makers mark that I can see. But I assume it is quite old as it came with these straws and the ones inside. The not so good news is that there are two chips on the bottom of the jar. One of them is smaller and not too noticeable from the top. When you rub your fingers on it underneath the jar it is pretty smooth. When I rub my finger all around the bottom edge there are a few rough spots but nothing major except for the following. The other base chip is larger and I can't quite figure it out. You can see an edge chip, but then below it sort of waves out. However, when you run your finger over the bottom spot there, it is really smooth. I mean, I understand how you chip a glass edge, but I don't get how the bottom area underneath broke to a smooth surface like that. Perhaps this is a stupid question for me to ask. And perhaps it is just because I have never owned or broken a thick older glass item. Mostly I just break glasses in the sink or on the floor, and they are usually cheap wine glasses that just break and not chip. Anyway, the good news is that you can certainly display this jar from the front with that issue on the back. The other glass issue is one on the inside- not quite half way down. Not sure how this would happen inside the jar- but there is a little 1/4 inch chip. And near that a couple of thin circular rings. However, when I feel this from the inside, I can feel the chip indent but it is smooth where the circle is. Okay, enough about the jar. Oh, except to say that it is full of old paper straws- a few of which are bent. The other item is a very cool box of vintage Sweetheart paper straws which were manufactured by the Maryland Paper Products Company. The box has some wear. Sunshine(yellow straws) striped straws, colored bendy straws. I spent years collecting these but am finally parting with them. I paid $15-25 a box, but priced to sell. A few boxes(3)are darker/more stained than others but all of those are duplicates and the other box is in good condition. Collectible set of 2 red plastic straws with black figurines"climbing" or holding on each straw. One is Batman and the other is Catwoman. The red plastic straws measure 10" The straw that Catwoman is on is bent as you can see the photo. But it is approx 10" as well. The figurines are approx. 2" They are both very durable hard plastic straws which you can't bend. The only marking is on Batman on his cape in back: 1992 OC Comics. Inc. Applause TM China. Catwoman has something on a side of her leg that looks like OC. She is so thin and small, there is not much room to put anything anywhere.
