I Dream Retro vintage. art. all things cool. For auction is really cool piece of mid-century kitchenware-the SPOONOMAT. Which comes with its original instructions and box. I found an ad for the SPOONOMAT in a newspaper from 1955 and it was advertised as NEW at that time. According to the manufacturers, the SPOONOMAT is a stainless spoon that whirls 1500 times a minute. It is made from precision engineered parts by R. Wallace& Sons. The ball-bearing mechanism is patented. The spoon is guaranteed solid stainless, durable and non-corrosive. When the spoon is closed, it is 8 3/4" long. When you unscrew the top of the spoon and the inside rod pops out(be careful because it comes out fast) it is 11 3/4" long. The SPOONOMAT is versatile, mixing everything from baby formula to cocktails, which in itself tells you a lot about the 1950s. ... moreThe spoon comes in its original box, a black bottom with a red and white striped lie, what the manufacturer calls a"smart distinctive gift box, and also has the original instructions. Someone has punched some small holes in the instruction pamphlet, like with a straight pin. And, although it is supposed to be non-corrosive, there is a small spot of what looks like black tarnish on the back of the spoon where the bowl meets the handle. I rubbed it and the color seemed to lighten so it will probably come off if you want to clean it. These spoons were placed over a glass with a sugar cube on top. And the water was poured over the cube to reduce the bitterness of the absinthe. This was my father-in-laws from the 1940's. It is a leather bar travel case. There is a plastic shaker and 3 bottles- 2 for bourbon. 2 for scotch, plus an opener and spoon. The bottles are hard sided with no cracks or flaws. The case is 9 3/4 long, 7 1/4 high and 4 deep. There is no brand name on it. VINTAGE HAZEL ATLAS HOME BAR SET including PLEASANT HUNTING Cocktail Shaker and LOTS MORE Up for auction is a beautiful HAZEL ATLAS HOME BAR SET. This set includes a Cocktail Shaker which has colorful PHEASANTS on both sides and beneath the pheasants are hunters with their hunting dogs. The Cocktail Shaker measures 6 1/2" tall with the lid x 2 1/4" in diameter across the bottom x 3" in diameter across the top(without the lid) It is marked HA for Hazel Atlas on the bottom of the shaker. The Cocktail Shaker comes with it's original silver lid which is in nice shape. The piece of cork along the inside rim has cracked in one spot from age I would imagine but it still fits nice and tight. Also included is an 8" drink stirrer spoon. Bottle/can opener, drink strainer, double jigger and an 8" fork for cherries and olives! ... moreAll of these items come in the original box which is in decent condition. The lid is taped along one side and the corners and it says HOME BAR SET with graphics of a man mixing a drink. The bottom edges show some wear and there is a place in the middle where it looks like a tag or tape was removed. The box 11 x 11 x 3 1/2" The HOME BAR SET is in LIKE-NEW condition and there are no chips, cracks or scratches on the Cocktail Shaker. I don't think any of the pieces have been used, but since I bought it at an Estate Sale I cannot be sure. Please look at all the pictures for design, detail and condition. This Home Bar Set and Cocktail Shaker would make a great addition to your Vintage-Retro Cocktail Shaker Collection or it would look really cutting sitting or being used in your Retro-Bar.
